I really enjoyed this bookstore! I went because I’m traveling and have finished the book I brought with me. There was an English section with quite a few options but it seemed like nothing was quite speaking to me. Eventually I found a book that I’m quite enjoying. The staff was really helpful and they were hosting trivia night, which was cool. It’s located in Fontabella which is also super cute. I’d go back - I think I wished there were a “new and popular” section within the English section, or maybe even an area devoted to popular new books from writers of color. Yes, very specific I know. One of the best bookstores in the country. Great variety, has a super cute café they recently remodeled and expanded on a patio - great for having a bite to eat in a more intimate setting. The bookstore has books on a plethora of subjects in Spanish. The English section is nice, although don't expect to find authors that aren't well known here. SOPHOS en Fontabella es, sin duda, uno de esos lugares que combinan cultura, calidez y buen gusto en un solo espacio. Cada vez que voy, especialmente en compañía, la experiencia es excepcional: el trato del personal es siempre amable, respetuoso y con ese toque cercano que hace sentirte bienvenido desde el primer momento.

Lo que más me asombra es su increíble colección de libros. Es, sin exagerar, la más grande y variada que he visto en Guatemala, con títulos que van desde literatura clásica hasta las novedades editoriales más actuales. Para quienes amamos leer, es un verdadero paraíso.

La cafetería también merece mención aparte. Sus sabores son exquisitos y el ambiente tranquilo la convierte en el lugar perfecto para leer, conversar o simplemente disfrutar el momento. Además, los eventos que organizan son realmente especiales. Tuve la oportunidad de asistir a uno en febrero, y me impresionó cómo logran crear atmósferas únicas según la fecha o temática que se celebra, incluso incluyendo música en vivo que complementa la experiencia cultural.
