Chai Kings - Anna Nagar — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

The place was very hard to find even in the broad daylight as it had a very small entrance sandwiched between two shops. It took sometime to figure out the shop. The first thing which I noticed after entering the place was the uncleanliness near the entrance and the table near the entrance door. There were only family (group of three) who was sitting inside the store at the far end. There were only two tables to sit and two tables to stand and have the tea. I saw only one person handling the billing counter and he was also handling servicing of tea and food. It took around 5 minutes for him to serve me the Masala Chai which I wanted to have from the store. It was very watery and less strong and in my humble opinion was not great. It was not the same quality as I had from other outlets from the same branch. I was very disappointed with the quality and the uncleanliness of the store. There were a couple of swiggy guys who came during my time and they were not attended fast as well by the billing guy. There was hardly any parking space and I had to squeeze my two wheeler in front of the shop and it took some manoeuvring and with great difficulty after a couple of minutes I could take my bike out of the way. Overall, it is a one time visit place unless they improve on the quality and the cleanliness.

P.S: There were so many flies...

Chai kings is known for it’s tea and noodle samosa. I believed the quality is consistent among all branches but that is proving to be wrong in multiple instances.

The atmosphere is bad. The AC outlet was not even covered properly. The place looked almost like a abandoned place.

We ordered cold coffee, chocolate milkshake, fruit bubble tea and chilli cheese toast. Out of this, the chilli cheese toast was really good.

Now to the fruit bubble tea. The bubble tea/ boba tea is famous for the tapioca pearls. Usually, any bubble tea we order will be given with the tapioca pearls else it will not be bubble tea, and then we add on extra. But here, firstly the pearls are add on. Only with the add on you get pearls, else only the bland flavored tea. Secondly, the famous tapioca pearls were not there. Image my disappointment. I ordered mango bubble tea with strawberry pearls since tapioca was not available. It amounted to 200 total. The Mango tea was just rasna with strawberry pearls. It’s a scam. Complete disappointment and I am seriously questioning my loyalty to the place.

Fun fact: I saw the owners of the chai kings leave the shop while I was entering and still this was one of the worst chai...

Their Chai is the Signature drink. Do not miss it at any cost. It is served pipping hot. They offer different varieties. Kindly check with them, if you’re not sure as to what to order. Goes perfectly well with Samosas. In my instance I had it as soon as I had Shawarmas from the outlet next door.

Mini Samosas are their specialty. It’s a quick bite and I was surprised to see that there is no oil but the taste was splendid. You can carry it in your lunch bag/box as well easily.

Donut is ultimate. It will be surely loved by the kids. I had Chocolate Donut. Trust me, taste was mesmerising. It is filled inside with chocolate syrup which oozes out as you eat them. So do exercise proper care while eating 🙂
