I hate having to write this less than positive review but unfortunately I can't give a higher score.

I have been in JD with my partner 3 times and all the times I have been disappointed.

The first time I found the sides to be bland and the meat somehow non memorable (to the point that I don't remember what I had).

The second time I had some meat on the bone and found it very tough to chew. I usually eat tough meat without complaining and only focus on the taste. This one would have not been acceptable in a pub, let alone a steakhouse. The fact that it was cooked very well convinced me to try a 3rd time, just changing the cut I ordered.

This time I opted for a fillet that I ordered medium rare, same as my partner. Hers arrived cooked to perfection while mine was too cooked and the result was that it was chewy. Exactly the opposite of what I would expect from a fillet.

The beef was not particularly tasty. For my taste it was also lacking salt, but that's easily fixed. To enjoy my meal I ended up covering it in sauce while I usually barely use it.

Mash was quite good, but that's not the main reason for me to go to a steakhouse.

The sizzling onions & mushrooms were good but also lacking salt.

The red wine was extremely good but also probably too expensive.

The fact that waiters have been consistently very nice and that the place feels very cosy makes it a true shame that I can't enjoy a steakhouse that is only few mins walk from home.

EDIT: I am so glad I gave the place a 4th chance. This time I deeply enjoyed my dinner of lamb cutlets and mint & chocolate ice cream. I am already looking forward to going back there hoping that things will remain for me enjoyable as...

We went here last night and it really ruined our anniversary dinner. Our table was booked for 8.30, it was a busy night, we arrived on time and were asked to wait at the bar. At 9.10 we where pointed to our table. 25 minuets later we were given the menu after I had to go and find someone. The rest of the night went similarly where we where just forgotten about and had to chase service, everytime they served us they apologised saying that 2 people where on holidays and they where really busy but for the life of me i dont know why they took so many many reservations or didnt let us know this when we arrived as surely holidays would be known about in advance. They said they would discount the bill which turned out to be 1 pint and 1 coke taken off the bill. The starters and mains were nice but small portions considering the price. Dessert was terrible. As I said our booking was for 8.30; we had starters, mains and dessert and tea/coffee then left stright after at nearly 12.30. It ruined the rest of our night as we couldnt go for a drink after as planned because we had to go back to the baby sitter, in hindsight we should have just walked out. It wasnt just us that were annoyed, everyone there seemed in the same boat. All and all horrible experience. I know they said staff where on holidays but their attitude was to throw their hands up and say "well its not our fault" holidays should be accounted for when taking bookings and not made the customers problem. I dont normally leave bad reviews but this experience was one...

Won't be going again. We had booked a table for 5.30pm so we could have a quick meal and get back to the kids. On arrival, though the place was close to empty, we were asked to wait at the bar while they organised our table instead of offering us one of the many tables available. Remind me again why we made a reservation...?!

Within 5 minutes we were brought to our table and given menus which were falling apart, nor were they explained. No drink order was taken and 10 minutes later they came to take our food order.

Wings and fillet steak m/w with pepper sauce and chips. Prawns and fillet steak m with mushroom sauce and mash. Note that on the early bird 2 course menu there is no dessert option.

Prawns were grand. Wings were below average. Slimey even. Both steaks were beyond well done. Dry. Pepper sauce was just cream and lots of salt.

Not once during the starter or main were we asked if our food was ok. In fact, not once while we were there.

The owner came to serve the table beside us and fell over my chair. Five minutes later he fell over me again. Five minutes after that the server came to apologise to the table beside us as they'd brought the wrong dish (10 minutes ago).

I actually left the pace annoyed. How does a steakhouse have no steak included in their early bird offer? Steaks were €8 extra, prawns €2 extra.

Time for something new to take over this 90s timewarp and let the current owners get back to whatever their...

OMG!!! What a place! Me and my friend tried to go there many times but it was always close as have been there around 1pm and they just open at 5pm Then our lucky day came 🤗 Brilliant customer service from the start. As place was still closed we ask owner/ manager? if we could sit in there terrace as was beautiful sunny day. They kindly let us, but also they served us a drinks and brought the speaker that we could listen our music. They we are asked about food, kitchen wasn’t ready as they open at 5pm and it was only around 3.30pm. What a nice surprise when I’m half an hour we’ve been told we can order the food. I must say that medallions of fillet was made to perfection and I didn’t have that perfectly done steak for very long time. Well done to chef!!! Also big thank you to Pedro who was serving us, he was just brilliant! Definitely perfect place to go and we would go there again.

We had an excellent meal at JD's Steakhouse. Steaks were cooked to perfection, sides and sauces were delicious. Menu had a great selection of steaks and sides, starters and other bits. Great wine and drinks menu. The Pinot Grigio went down a treat. We had one issue with a well done steak that wasn't cooked to our liking which was dealt with by empecible customer service, we didn't have time to wait for it to go back to the kitchen so a complimentary drink of choice was offered. Early bird menu is excellent and also keep an eye out for this restaurant on Early Table and First Table great discounts are available. Will definitely be dining at JD's again.
