Spectacular gelato- wonderful experience. I asked about whether the gelato is pasteurized, as it’s important for pregnancy, and the server wanted to make sure so brought out the owner who couldn’t have been kinder or more helpful in explaining the process the gelato undergoes. Only 2 flavors are not fully pasteurized, as expected the tiramisu and the crema. I was so pleased with their courtesy but then trying the gelato, it was really top notch. I didn’t try every gelateria in Cagliari, but I did my best. And my favorite by far was Gelatificio di Federico. As far as we’re concerned, pistachio gelato is the standard by which a shop should be judged and Federico’s was absolutely the best. A cousin was running the shop when we were there and this cousin ( Arturo?) suggested we try just a sample of fig gelato. Amazing.
