If your idea of a good hotel is to have a good night sleep, this is no longer the place to stop. It has been a disappointment for us as the last two stops we made here – last year, and the year before - were quite good. ||||But now, be prepared for a sleepless night if you are saddled with the same paper-thin walls type of room we had. Granted, the location is perfect (downtown) and the setting nice and clean, but is it worth such a noise nuisance?||||Facts: we were violently woken up at 2am by loud talks and laughs behind our heads, through the contiguous wall. After 20 minutes of this harsh treatment we banged a couple of times on the wall. Noise stopped only to be replaced by noisy whisperings behind our heads - for 45 minutes; this is where we realized that the contiguous wall was barely a few millimeters wide! It took us about one hour to get back to a somewhat uncertain sleep – round 4am. ||||In the morning, when I stated factually our terrible experience to the manager at the desk, she retorted (nutshell):||- Being an historical building, noise insulation works are out of the question ;||- As it is a B&B, you - read “the customer who paid around 90 euros for a night accommodation”), you shouldn’t expect the same standard as in a hotel. ? ? ||- As the demand was high the hotel supplied the contiguous single bedroom to a couple. ||||In short, the manager meant: “noise between 2am and 4am, plus hearing your neighbors whispering is quite a natural thing, please, stop being finicky! Read moreFantastic place to stay. I would say the location, in the centre of town but just off the main dining/bar street is a major attraction. It's very easy to get to, just 8 minutes walk from the train station. The train journey costs 1.30 euros for a single and is easy to navigate - don't bother with an airport transfer or taxi. Our welcoming and helpful hostess, Monica spoke very good English and ensured we felt supported as non-Italian speakers in Sardinia. Her recommendations for restaurants were excellent. We were allowed to leave our baggage in reception as we arrived earlier than check in and stayed later than check out. This service was invaluable. The B&B is impeccably clean, thanks to the lovely couple working there. Breakfast was good. The bathroom was only recently completed and very modern and stylish. The bed was very comfortable. It can be a little noisy from the bar at the end of the street, but the windows and shutters provide excellent soundproofing. The air conditioning worked very well. I'd love to...
Read moreFrom the moment I arrived at Sa Domu Cheta, I felt completely at home. The warm benvenuto from the staff especially Anna & Emmanuela set the tone for my stay they are some of the kindest and most welcoming people I’ve ever met, making the whole experience feel personal and heartfelt.
The room was bellissima spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated, and incredibly comfortable. I slept like a dream, and every little detail, from the soft linens to the charming decor, showed real care and passion.
Breakfast each morning was a delizia fresh, homemade pastries, local jams, and rich Italian coffee, served in a cozy setting that felt like a true slice of Sardinian life. It was the perfect start to my day of exploring.
The location couldn’t be better right in the heart of the centro storico, with Cagliari’s sights, cafes, and boutiques just a short stroll away. Sa Domu Cheta is pure Italian charm combined with comfort and hospitality....
