I visited this store yesterday and had a questionable experience. Slept on it over night and decided to write a review in hopes that the owner might consider a couple things.
First I came with the full intention of buying a guitar and am the kind of player that really needs to spend some time with it. You know, not just look at it and play a few chords. This shop does have some great guitars so I came prepared with my own set up with headphones so as to not be disruptive to other customers. My wife was out shopping and I had a couple hours to kill. Great afternoon for me I thought.
It may have been at around the 45 min mark that the owner came in to check on me. I thought he wanted to chat about the guitar, so I gave him my first impressions and asked a few questions. He wouldnât leave afterwards and I could see he was annoyed. I guess 45 minutes is a long time in his opinion. So I asked if I could spend a few more minutes with it and he said that they needed the room. The shop was empty and I was a serious buyer so I was really confused. Had I offended this man somehow?
The whole thing felt personal as maybe it was my being a tourist post covid in their city. Either way I find it odd to treat anyone this way. Draw it up to differences in culture or what not. But had he given me the few more minutes I had requested. He would have made the sale.
Is there a lesson here for him? I...
Read moreAs someone whoâs genuinely interested in music, I visited this store two days in a row. On the first day, I spent about an hour trying out just two guitars, but I didnât want to take up too much of their time, so I planned to come back another day. The staff were very helpful and attentive throughout. The next day, I came back and purchased a guitar strap and two picks. After that, I asked to try another guitar â but unfortunately, I was met with a surprisingly rude and dismissive attitude from the store manager. He directly said, âYou are coming here just to entertain yourself,â implying that I was there just to pass time or amuse myself. I found this extremely unprofessional and disrespectful, especially considering that I had already made a purchase and was genuinely interested in the instruments. Even if I hadnât bought anything, I donât think spending time trying just two guitars â for about an hour â should be treated so harshly. Trying instruments is a natural part of the experience in any music store, and interpreting that as a waste of time or an annoyance is simply wrong. That being said, the store does offer a nice but not much selection of products at fairly reasonable prices, and the rest of the staff were genuinely kind and helpful. Still, the managerâs attitude unfortunately overshadowed the entire experience. The second star is just for the helpful staff. I wonât...
Read moreI walked in looking for a couple of things and noticed a couple of cheap guitars(100-200$) I began to play, being an intermediate guitar player I own more expensive guitars than the ones I was playing. The guy comes over and said no play guitar and pointed to a sign in the far corner that was barely visible that read. âAsk to play Guitarâ so I apologized and then proceeded to ask to try one. He asked me if I was going to buy one, I was not there to buy a guitar but was there to buy other things. He told me âno pay, no playâ. I was pissed off and went to the piano section in another room as I play piano as well. The man in this room was nicer but would not let me go anywhere near the expensive pianos. Then the guy from before came over and told me 5 min of playing only if I wasnât going to buy. Keep in mind there are like 2 other costumers in the store and at least 8 pianos on display. I proceeded to tell him he is doing a horrible job at running a store, his customer service is horrible and I told him that he lost a customer. He basically politely told me to fu*k off and leave the store. Overall the prices were not that good but they did have a big selection. Not a good experience, would not...
