Read moreUnfortunately this place gave me the worst dining experience in Florence, and in fact my entire life. Disgustingly filthy dirty seats, toilet and bathroom (urine on the filthy floor) with no toilet paper or soap. Tableware had chips in it, and was asked to replace with a plate, ended up replacing the plate with one that was worse than the first one. When asking for toilet paper out of desperation ( I was busting, and waited approx 5 mins, I asked twice the second time out of desparation, intially the staff were standing around and it wasnt that busy and I noted myselft to try a wipe the toilet before using it) the arrogant manager who seemed to own the place, had the audacity to site that I was rude and disrespectful, and literally asked me to leave, and suggested that although my ancestors are Italian, that this isn't my home, and that while I am there I should be more respectful. In my mind I am thinking how about treating your customers with respect by ensuring the toilet and restaurant is cleaned?! I wasnt given an opportunity to explain myself and escalated the discussion to an argument. The waiter himself was so arrogant and rude, and had a very high opinion of himself and horrible ego for customer service. My partner who is fluent in italian could sense how rattled and upset I was and approached the manager and suggested he that we leave, in which we did mid-meal. The pizza itself, which I was happy to leave was very soggy in the centre and was very un-italian. The supposed organic unfiltered wine, was average compared to many others I have tried in the region. If you value poor hygiene then I would recommend this place.

Today I had breakfast at one of the cutest places I’ve ever visited, but unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. I was served by a woman who showed a complete lack of care and courtesy towards customers.
When I tried to put olive oil on the salad that came on my plate, I was told I would have to pay an extra 4 euros. To my surprise, even salt and black pepper were charged separately. When I questioned this, she replied that it was the house rule and there was nothing she could do. She even said the salad on my plate was “just decoration.” I responded that it could not be considered decoration since I was going to eat it.
On top of that, the prices are completely disproportionate: a simple toast costs 8 euros, and an extra egg costs 4 euros — prices that make no sense considering the place’s concept and the service provided.
I also noticed other tables were not happy with the service and the long wait times. Some even canceled their coffee orders after waiting more than 20 minutes.
That said, I want to acknowledge that there was one very friendly and helpful waiter, always ready to assist. I would love to know his name to mention it here, as I also saw that the same woman who served me was rude to him as well.
I don’t know who manages Café Simiosi Organic, but it’s clear that the administration is poor. Charging for salt, pepper, and olive oil, in addition to already charging standard menu prices and a per-person table fee, is simply...
