La mia esperienza in questa succursale della rinomata pasticceria Poppella non è stata delle migliori, e voglio spiegare nel dettaglio il perché. Parlo di succursale perché, in passato, ho visitato la sede storica alla Sanità e ne ho conservato un ottimo ricordo, sia per la qualità dei Fiocchi di Neve, sia per la cortesia del personale. Spinto dalla curiosità per il nuovo prodotto pubblicizzato sui social, decido di entrare. Il cassiere serve due persone davanti a me, poi, quando arriva il mio turno, anziché rivolgermi subito la parola, trascorre alcuni secondi scorrendo due reel su TikTok, con il telefono appoggiato alla cassa. Solo dopo mi degna di attenzione. Ordino due caffè e due dolci al cioccolato della nuova linea. Nove euro🤔. Pago, pensando che debbano essere davvero straordinari per giustificare quel prezzo. Chiedo se devo recarmi al banco per ritirare l'ordine, ma non ottengo risposta. Procedo comunque. Al banco, sulla sinistra, due operatrici con empatia pari a zero, mi lanciano "quasi" un vassoio, come se mi stessero facendo un favore a farmi provare cotanta bontà in un sol boccone. E si! Due piccoli dolci al cioccolato di appena 2,5 cm di diametro con una cialda sopra su cui campeggia la scritta "Poppella". Passo ai caffè e qui almeno ricevo un sorriso dal barista, l’unico che dimostra gentilezza. Mi avvisa: "Al tavolo c’è il servizio!". Penso tra me e me: "Pure?", visto che il tavolo interno è a un metro dalla cassa, attaccato al muro. Chiamo mia moglie e decidiamo di prendere il caffè al banco. Poi, finalmente, assaggio il dolce tanto atteso. Penso. Penso.Penso ancora."E mi, sovvien l'eterno", sblocco un ricordo: ecco perché costano così tanto, per l’emozione che evocano… È come addentare mezzo Chicchirichì al cioccolato. Solo che sei Chicchirichì costavano 1000 lire. Al di là delle battute e delle scelte commerciali, chi entra da Poppella non cerca solo il prodotto, ma si aspetta un trattamento all’altezza della sua reputazione. Avete alzato l’asticella, ma ora dovete essere all’altezza delle aspettative. Non fate affidamento solo sul ricambio della clientela: il turista passa e se ne va, ma la qualità del servizio resta impressa. Non pensate che basti il nome, perché i social, gli stessi che vi hanno reso virali, possono rapidamente diventare un’arma a doppio taglio. Il giudizio sul prodotto è soggettivo, ma l’atteggiamento verso i clienti è un dato oggettivo: ed è proprio questo a trasformare un’esperienza da positiva a negativa. Truth is it was a very “nah” experience.. I went there because of many people saying it was very very good, but I was welcomed by grumpy waiters that were treating me like I was disturbing them.. but I decided to go over it and order some sweets. Again, waiters weren’t literally responding to ANY verbal input making me questioning whether I was addressing the wrong person.. but after a bad glance they actually put food on a plate and brought it to the table. Sfogliatelle were cold and rock-hard, pastiera tasted like an industrial product but the fiocchi di neve were actually good (only reason I’m giving them 2 stars for food).
