During a recent visit this recommended restaurant, where the cost was 100 euros per person, my expectations were high, given the price and the establishment’s reputation. Unfortunately, the experience fell short in several key areas.

Firstly, the restaurant is small and not very clean, and the service felt rushed, diminishing the overall dining experience. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a welcome drink of sparkling wine, but it was served just once and the glasses were not filled adequately, which seemed a bit ungenerous considering the cost of the meal.

The menu, a series of pre-prepared dishes, lacked the freshness and spontaneity I anticipated. Particularly disappointing was the quality of the salmon, which did not meet the standards one would expect at this price point. This was surprising and detracted significantly from the culinary experience.

Another point of dissatisfaction was the beverage service. Although our meal was supposed to include drinks, the selection was limited to a single type of white wine. This lack of variety and quantity was not in keeping with the inclusive drinks concept promised.

In retrospect, considering the cost, the experience was underwhelming. For the price paid, I could have enjoyed four meals at other trattorias in Naples, likely with more satisfaction. It’s disappointing when a highly-anticipated dining experience doesn’t live up to expectations, especially when it comes at a...

We had a mixed experience here: The service was really good, fast and friendly. The ambience downstairs is very nice, but we were initially seated upstairs, where there was loud music from the kitchen and the ambience is a bit barren. Luckily, we got a seat downstairs after some minutes. The house wine is really good and reasonably priced as are the starters (we had the fried mixed vegetables and the fried calamaretti with chips). We both weren't really pleased with the main course however: My wife had pasta with crema di zucchini and clams. While the clams were good, the crema lacked seasoning and didn't really taste like much. I had fish with ratatouille, salad and a reduction of red wine. While the fish was of high quality and well prepared, the ratatouille was just a bunch of undercooked and underseasoned vegetables, the salad was dry without any kind of sauce, and the reduction of red wine didn't taste anything like red wine, it was just sugary. So in short, good ambiance, house wine, starters and service, fair prices. The main courses were a bit too fancy and not executed well enough. To be fair, we only had what we had and can't say anything about the rest, the Angus steak I saw on another table for example looked...

After seeing such positive reviews we decided to check this place out. It was a little tricky to find as their sign outside is drawn on. We arrived early as we didn’t have a reservation but we ended up being only 1 of 2 groups in there which was lovely. There are only a few tables but the two men serving us did a great job in making us feel welcome here. We had the octopus, zucchini flower tempura and the tagliatelle with bacon. The octopus was delicious, though the greens were a touch too bitter. I absolutely loved the stuff zucchini flowers. Perfect crunch, with creamy cheese inside and not too much batter. The tagliatelle was divine, lots of crispy bacon and the perfect amount of sauce. The cherry on top though was the desserts! We tried the two panna cottas: a lemon one with olive oil and a strawberry and lemon one. They came in a beautiful shape, and were light and creamy, just wonderful! Prices were reasonable, and the service was fast and friendly. This place fills up fast so if you don’t have a reservation, get there before 7:30 and you’ll have better luck...

Came here after seeing a few people online recommending it as a good spot that isn't frequent by a lot of tourists. Having just arrived in Napoli from Rome, we were a little wary of tourist trap restaurants. Re Lazzarone pacified all of our fears. Right from the start our waiter was incredibly friendly. For the prices we saw the options were surprisingly gourmet, with most dishes offering a slightly upscale twist on classic Italian dishes. We started with the fish cacio e pepe which came out with delightful plating. You could tell the ingredients were very fresh, they tasted so good. Next up was the Tuna Tataki, which was served in a smoky glass. The flavor was soooo good, the sauce complimented the tuna perfectly and the smoky flavor was prevalent in the dish. They even brought us out shots to end our night. Overall a wonderful experience. If you want to try some incredibly gourmet food at a fair price that's a little different from the typical neopolitan dishes I cannot recommend Re Lazzarone enough.

During my recent visit to a restaurant, I found the meal to be underwhelming. My dining partner and I decided to share three appetizers which were octopus in a potato sauce, fried anchovies, and peppered mussels. Despite the potato sauce's texture being a bit off-putting, the octopus was still my favorite of the three. The mussels lacked broth, which was a bit disappointing, and the fried anchovies were good but they were not accompanied by a dipping sauce. However, I was able to use the mayo that came with the octopus to enhance the flavor. We ordered the shrimp pasta for our main course which had a nice bite to it, but it was a tad fishy. Despite that, the dish was still enjoyable. I was impressed with the nice presentation of the food which made it look more appetizing. The staff at the restaurant were very friendly and attentive throughout our meal, which was a plus. Overall, while the food may not have been exceptional, the staff's service and the nice presentation of the food made up for it.
