Rome is a very charming city. Like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get. Every corner has a surprise: could be a Roman monument, a magnificent church, beautiful pink or white flowers, a curtain of green plants hanging from a building, a musician busking... The city offers so many surprises for those who keep their
eyes on the horizon and their hearts open. The old pavements lead to small streets, most of them have 3-4 storey buildings with very typical windows, that tend to be green or brown. Lots of beautiful doors too. The city is built in tones of white, grey and mostly terracota, an earthy orange colour pallet that the lights up when the sunset approaches. Every corner has a restaurant or a gelato shop, clothes in the balconies, music, people - a lot of people! In the streets, cars pedestrians and scooters share narrow spaces - it is noisy, busy and mostly cheerful.
Rome is a city that is alive.
You can feel the energy and sometimes, the chaos. Sometimes too busy but it is in the end of the day, one of the big European centres.
There are people from all over the world here. Visiting and working. I haven't seen too much poverty but people are definitely hustling out there. Rome felt safe, poetic and a feast for the eyes and the...

This isn't just a single building; it's a massive, beautiful complex, the first of its kind in Italy. The architecture is a thoughtful blend of Roman classicism and modern design, incorporating beautiful white Italian granite (Bianco Sardo) and marble throughout. Look for the recurring oval motif in the floors and designs, which is a subtle nod to Michelangelo's design at the Piazza del Campidoglio in Rome.
While only members can enter the temple itself, the surrounding grounds are open to the public, and they are beautiful! There’s a dedicated Visitors’ Center which houses replicas of the Christus statue and the Twelve Apostles, sculpted from the same marble quarry Michelangelo used. There are also ancient olive trees on the property, some thought to be hundreds of years old. It’s a wonderfully peaceful and meticulously maintained spot on the outskirts...
Read moreLoved our visit to the Rome temple. The missionaries were so helpful but I only wish they had told us more things about the stained glass that I found out after coming home. Apparently there are things hidden in the stained glass for you to find in the visitors center. The statues of the 12 apostles are amazing!! The grounds are gorgeous and the umbrella trees are so awesome along the sidewalk. Call before you go because we looked online and it said it was opened and we got there and they had no workers for it to be open, that is the temple, the visitors center was open and we looked around. Also it is hard to get a taxi from the temple because of the location. I think it will get better with time as they learn of the location but it was an olive orchard so the gps is off a little bit. We had such a wonderful time and then the 3 girls and my husband went back another day to go...
