Fratelli La Bufala — Restaurant in Rome

My family and I have been at “Fratelli la Bufala” for a Sunday lunch. I was unsure about the choice because the place is located inside the “Porte di Roma” mall. But, hey, What a great experience! We spotted the most remarkable pizzeria in town! One of the best pizza experiences I had in the last year. I never had a decent meal there. So happy to be wrong and spotted a great place to enjoy a real “pizza Napoletana”. Whenever we desire a great pizza, we will consider the option to return to this place because of their delicious food and priceless hospitality in Naples.

Here’s a summary of my experiences in short:

Atmosphere & Place 7: The architect and the designer did a great job. As soon as you enter the “Fratelli la Bufala” pizzeria, you immediately forget about being in a crowded, loud and messy mall. The furniture design is curated and has a style. The atmosphere is calm, and you don’t feel the chaos coming outside. The restroom was tidy and clean. The most important thing, it was 100% accessible to everyone, and there was a changing table. Unfortunately, the WC didn’t have a toilet seat, and the flush was half broken. It’s a pity because, in my opinion, this shows a lack of accuracy from the management side.

Menu 8 ½: I had the typical pasta omelette as a starter, and it was superb! We ordered the Margherita with the ricotta cheese stuffed crust and the Bologna with Mortadella and caciocavallo cheese. Both of them were yummy and perfectly cooked!

Service 8: The staff served us with a smile and professionalism, and the service was perfect. They fully supported us as a family with a 2YO toddler and enjoyed the dining. The proverbial made in Naples hospitality is fully respected. Bill 7: The prices are fair considering the quality...

We had an unpleasent experience at this restaurant. We have been going to this place for more than 4 years because of the good pizzas they make but the service provided by the MANAGER was so bad and unpleasant.

My daughters who are 2 years old and 4 years old were playing in the hallway of the restaurant where the waiters pass to deliver the meals and I did not realize that in the first place. The moment I realize my daughters were blocking the hallways was when the MANGAGER of the restaurant approached our table by screaming to me to control my daughters and to leave the hallway open for the staff. He could have talked to me in a polite way BUT no, he preferred shouting at me and my daughters were traumatized.

I felt ashamed also to the other guests sitting at my table because I had to explain to them that even though I had suggested this place because of the good food, the service provided by the manager does not justify!.

Because of this situation you have lost a customer who comes every month and suggests many American tourists from the Rome Mormon Temple nearby to come there!

Aweful experience! Never...

Se potessi darei anche meno. Ho lavorato per anni nel settore ristorazione e so come funzioni il lavoro e le difficoltà che si possono incontrare. Ci presentiamo io e il compagno al ristorante alle 19:23. Dopo poco ci accoglie una cameriera gentile e ci fa sedere a un tavolino piccolino vicino ad altri, proprio davanti all’ingresso dove ci sarebbe stato più via vai. Ci sediamo e dopo diversi minuti di attesa finalmente prendono la comanda del nostro ordine. Per esigenze personali chiedo se fosse possibile preparare una pizza senza piccante, mi avrebbe fatto piacere provarla ma non potendo mangiare piccante ho chiesto questa informazione, informazione che il cameriere purtroppo non sapeva e si allontana per chiedere se fosse possibile o meno. Dopo altri minuti di attesa approfittiamo del fatto che la ragazza si fosse avvicinata al nostro tavolo per far accomandare altre persone e le ricordiamo della pizza, a quel punto mi informa che non sarebbe stato possibile averla senza piccante e chiedo un paio di minuti per sceglierne un’altra in sostituzione. Dopo altri interminabili minuti di attesa la richiamiamo per ricordarle che dovevamo ancora finire l’ordine e finalmente riusciamo a fare la comanda completa. Arriva l’antipasto che non era male e dopo altri minuti di attesa arriva finalmente anche la pizza. Finito tutto dopo altri minuti di attesa chiediamo se fosse disponibile al chees cake al pistacchio, nuovamente non sanno darci una risposta e rimaniamo in attesa per altri minuti, anche qui abbiamo attesa 15 minuti solo per sapere se ci fosse o meno. A quel punto si avvicina un altro ragazzo che ci chiedo se dovessimo ancora ordinare e gli diciamo che avevamo chiesto se ci fosse o meno il pistacchio per la chees cake, a quel punto arriva anche la ragazza che dice che non era disponibile con un po’ di dubbio da parte di entrambi, forse si era dimenticata e non aveva nemmeno chiesto? Sembrava proprio così. Chiediamo allora due caffè e rimaniamo altri 10 minuti in attesa. Stanchi di dover aspettare 20 e passa minuti per ogni cosa chiesta ci alziamo e andiamo in cassa a pagare. Chiediamo che dal conto vengano stornati i caffè e la chees cake mai arrivati. Il forse presunto responsabile insiste che i caffè ormai erano pronti e di berli, ripetiamo che non era più nostro interesse visto che stava andando tutto troppo per le lunghe e che volevamo solo pagare e andare via. Il cameriere a quel punto storna i caffè e aggiunge nello scontrino la chees cake. Perché? A quel punto ci accompagna verso l’uscita senza però mai darci lo scontrino finché non lo chiedo espressamente e li faccio notare la mossa meschina. Il problema non è nemmeno nei 7€ di chees cake ma nel gesto di voler inculare un cliente che ha espresso un male servizio! Siamo stati tranquilli per tutta la cena per poi essere anche presi in giro alla fine di quest’ultima! Poi per metterci una pezza sopra ci ha aggiunto anche una fetta in più di chees cake dicendo che la offriva come scuse! Ma per favore! Veramente delusa! Mai più tornerò in un posto simile dove la svogliatezza regna sovrana all’interno di un servizio blando dove con un po’ di fantasia si prega sicuramente offrire una qualità superiore. Se non avete voglia di fare sto lavoro cambiatelo non vi costringe nessuno! E se non sapete fare altro potete...
