UPDATED— A strap on my bag needed to be fixed. I took it to a shop, turns out all the leather I bought was fake. The man at the repair shop told me someone went through a lot of work to ensure it looks and smells like real leather but doesn’t make it any less fake than it is. What a bummer, I thought the people at this store were really genuine. I looked on their website and they say that all of their leather is authentic high quality Italian leather; hand crafted using ancient techniques. I was also informed at the repair shop it’s made with a machine and most likely mass produced. What a shame. Just another tourist trap I guess. Everything I purchased was not “faux leather priced”.

The owner makes all the leather products there in the shop so you can check out his work station. Very very nice people! The leather is such great quality and the best prices I’ve seen. I was walking with my brother one night when we walked by this shop. We went back the next day with our parents because I knew my mom needed to see it! I had seen a simple beautiful mask in the window and couldn't help but come back. We had gotten a bunch of different things. My brother picked out 2 keychains and a journal for his friend. My mom picked out a gorgeous purse that became a backpack and a very small bag for little things like change. I had picked out 2 keychains and a small backpack purse. The quality of everything in the store was incredible. This experience was so special because not only did we step in the back to see where everything gets made but we had gotten many of the pieces we bought burned with initials. If you are in Siracusa and are looking for very high quality leather items (authenticly hand made in Italy, the real deal :) this is your shop. The owner Andrea has an amazing shop with beautifully constructed goods, which are all made by himself in the back of the shop. We especially like the bags, as the designs of Andrea are very contemporary, with nice little twists. We got two beautifully designed backpacks, constructed with care, quality materials and an eye for detail. The owner is super friendly and great to chat with.
