旅のくすり箱 — Local services in Kurashiki

This is a shop specializing in fermented products so they have a huge variety! I got a bottle of very nice soy sauce, the umami is much richer than the regular soy sauce you get in supermarkets. At the shop we had the dango which was very very nice. The mochi itself was slightly sweet and pairs perfectly with the thick umami rich sauce. We also had a fermented soda (?) which tasted a little herbal and strange, but I guess people who like herbal flavors...

We absolutely loved the amazake here. The peach flavoured one was extremely refreshing. The location was excellent as well, and gives a nice, central place to rest and recharge before exploring deeper into Honmachi or the other side of the canal from where you were initially walking.

We got some white and black koji from here as well, and are looking forward to trying out our own...

This was a lovely Dango shop in Japan. 🍡 Thank you so much for the amazing experience and for being so kind! I accidentally left my bag here, and the staff kept the store open even after closing time so I could come back and get it. I’m truly grateful for your kindness and hospitality....
