Getting a kimono makeover with Kitkat and her sensei was the single-most unforgettable experience during my Japan trip. Not only they have a huge collection to choose from, they also gave us the choice of hairstyle, the purse, and the umbrella to carry.

I chose a Sakura print because that’s what Japan means to me. My friend picked up something similar. We wore it and walked around the surrounding neighbourhood. The new foot wear was no problem at all. The yukata was light and breezy and gave us relief in the scorching heat.

The place is a little further down the main street and so it wasn’t over crowded. The full service was 4950 yen when we visited. And the experience was totally worth the price.

I was greeted with such warm smiles and friendly welcome. They had many different kimonos to choose from and also had different hairstyles to recreate. When putting on the kimono (a more extensive process than I imagined), the worker was very diligent and careful. She made sure it wasn’t too tight and asked if I was okay the entire time. This is a wonderful place to make your kimono dreams come to life! They were able to take us in without a reservation, and had a lovely selection of kimonos as well as hakama for a reasonable price.
