We have been to AriHana Kyoto with our 2 kids and they have loved it! It is hold in an old japanese house that is lovely and has a truly authentic feeling to it. The lovely woman that runs the place is extremely welcoming, grateful and engaging with both kids and parents. She went above and beyond to ensure there was always something for our kids to do. They made origami, they wore traditional japanese clothes, she explained how old traditional japanese toys are, she thought us loads of japanese games. Our kids squeezed every opportunity of this place and she was always smiling and helping and teaching and playing and engaging. She wants to create lovely a space for kids that live and travel to Japan for them to enjoy, and she has done just that! We absolutely recommend her place! We found that both us parents and our kids have learned so much about the japanese culture through her knowledge and how she always explained everything to us. She is absolutely adorable and her pure energy can be felt. 100% recommend as an amazing addition to learning more of the japanese culture through play from an...

As there are not a lot of places in Kyoto tailored for children, we chose AriHana in hopes that she would enjoy playing with traditional japanese toys.
It is her first trip to Japan, and thus far, she had been interested in aspects of the japanese culture, but a little hesitant with the people and their „weird language“.

In the meantime, the caretaker taught me how to fold ninjas and shuriken for future adventures. Time flew by so quickly that it was time to leave before we knew it. If you are looking for a great, playful experience for you and your child while visiting Kyoto, I can only recommend...
Read moreThis place is sadly a tourist trap! Adult + 2yo + 6yo cost us JPY 12,200 - for this price we could have gone time times to a railway museum and twenty times to the zoo! The lady is using origami paper, crayons, paper “games” from a 100 yen store. There are 10 books and few simple wooden toys. You’s be better off getting a premium set of toys at the hotel and playing there. The best part is you do not get the price at the entrance so you are forced to pay. She apologize s sating machine does not work and come over to you with a price list and credit card machine only after your children start playing. There is no price list anywhere on display. You’d be better of buying premium Japanese toys for half of he price and playing...
