Read morePositive things. Hotel was nice and clean good location to walk around.good shower pressure and immunities. Also there’s bakery cafe on site with selection of morning goods cakes pastries bread and baguettes which you pay extra for this.
Negative things. Rooms are smaller breakfast very limited and they are not flexible to swap things around on the menu. Even did they have bakery upstairs in the lobby? They wouldn’t supply on buffet breakfast baguettes then I ask they said no they don’t have it on the buffet breakfast which is very disappointing and I’ll tell not flexible. I booked through Expedia for months before and I pay £1500 nearly for two rooms for five nights no breakfast Close to my trip three weeks before I checked it price gone down £350 when I contacted Expedia to cancel it, obviously my booking was noncancelable they said they will contact with the hotel. Ask them as a goodwill to cancel it and I can rebook it with breakfast and save that £350 hotel refuse to do so and refuse to honour this which is very disappointing we end up paying for breakfast and paying more to stay there considering it was cheaper. I’m gonna put photos up to as evidence to show that and very very disappointed that hotel not willing to negotiate and cancel and allow us to rebook because they knew price has gone down and they wouldn’t allow us hotel not worth it to pay more than £120 per night including breakfast for a couple you could stay same price Doubletree by Hilton cross the road bigger rooms and more option on the buffet breakfast. Photos attached what we paid and how much was price gone down we were very disappointed same date five nights everything is the same we end up paying more and not having breakfast top of that and paying extra for breakfast with you try couple of days and it wasn’t worth it But didn’t mind having it all in the price if they did allow us cancel and rebook it then you think it’s worth it for all that money the waste totally totally disappointed...
Read moreMy family and I stayed at Nohga Hotel in late December 2024 and I just feel this place just deserves the most positive feedback.
Everything about this hotel is amazing. First, it is located a 5 minute walk away from some of the main sites of Kyoto. The nearby shops selling everything from beautiful ceramics and traditional Japanese products are definitely worth a browse.
Despite being on a main road the hotel is quiet, warm and restful after a heavy day of competitive shopping. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms and cosy, clean and very nice to come home to.
Second big mention is the restaurant. The food and service is incredible. Make sure you include breakfast in your booking because the breakfast menu is amazing. They have their own bakery on site so they make the most beautiful mini loaves of bread which my son would devour at an alarming rate.
If eating in the evening, I recommend the Wagyu Bolognese, and be sure to let the staff recommend a good Japanese whisky.
The rooftop bar is superb and do a great burger. It was very cold up there in December, but we sat around a firepit and the staff bought us warmed up blankets to wrap ourselves in. It was sooo cosy.
But the best thing about Hotel Nohga are the staff. This is the most amazing service I have ever experienced. An incredible group of multi lingual staff members who all go way above and beyond to ensure the comfort and happy experience of all their guests. Every morning we'd come in for breakfast and were greeted by all staff with a happy smile - we were always made to feel like the most important people in the room, and I'm willing to bet all the other guests felt the same.
So if you are looking for somewhere to stay in Kyoto, this is the place to be. Don't even think about it, just book and you will have the best time. If we ever return to Kyoto this will be the first thing we book.
10 out of 10,...
