My experience with Ookini was fantastic & magical! Carmen & her colleagues were amazing & professionals 👑 I was a walk-in with no prior appointment made. This is my 1st rental experience, and Carmen guided me thoroughly 🌟 They have multilingual team members. Japanese, Chinese, Cantonese, Korean, English Variety of clothing options in different price ranges & value packages👗👝. Please communicate & confirm the price of your rental before dressing up. You pay what you get! 🎎 Dolling up was smooth, fast & efficient. The lady who helped me was a pro. I walked up & down the steep stairs, jumped, and even ran! My furisode was still neat, with no slips and no accessories misaligned. If there's a competition she'd won 1st prize 🥇🌟 Hair was styled & bejewelled in less than 20 mins💅. The hairstylist was very gentle and quick with her hands 🌟 I was given a heat pack before I left with my rental because it was rather windy. Carmen was so sweet 🥺❤️ Returning my rental during closing time was an organized chaos. I swear, if you don't have a team who know what they were doing, it'd just be chaos. Even then, I was not rushed and took my time changing 🌟
To the owner of Ookini, you have an amazing team. Thank you! They deserve a raise! ❤️😆
To the team that helped me and gave me such fantastic experiences, I may not know each of your names, but I will forever remember your happy laughter & the way you ladies enjoyed...
Read moreThis review is really 4 1/2 stars. The staff was super friendly like everybody has said. Super cheerful, nice, genuinely want to help you, and they do speak Japanese, Mandarin, and English. They are also really fast. They get you dressed fast, do your hair fast, and your makeup fast. But all is professional and the outcome of it is so worth it if you’ve wanted to experience wearing a kimono. The only reason I’m not rating a full 5 stars is because the shop is packed and can be chaotic. I picked the earliest time slot on Klook (8:30am - when the store opens) and there were already so many people there.
I booked my rental through Klook and chose the Furisode package. However, the furisode kimono ended up not fitting me, so we went with houmongi instead, which was still very beautiful. I’m a bigger sized girl so I was very very worried they were going to tell me nothing can fit me. But everything still worked out in the end and I had so much fun wearing it. I even got some compliments from strangers. My boyfriend also was able to do this too, even though he didn’t have a reservation. Note that if you don’t book through Klook or any other kind of service or do not pre-pay in some way, you must pay in cash only. You can return the kimono any time before they close at 6pm.
All in all, it was a great experience and I would consider even doing it again!...
Read moreOne of my favorite experiences that we did in Japan. We booked a couple kimono with the photoshoot though Klook. The options available to us with Klook were more limited. After looking at the other options we decided to upgrade to a furisode which they had no problem with just paid the extra costs which was quite a bit but worth it in my opinion (cash only here). They helped find us option’s and accessories that complimented another so we matched well and made sure you liked it overall (kimono, hair, etc). I do want to note they were very quick to get you in and out but this allows you and others to have plenty of time to explore and enjoy wearing the kimonos (the whole process took about 1.5hrs but that depends how long you take to choose your items and the queue (arrive as soon as they open!)) At the end of the day I had asked them if I could buy my hair accessories as I loved them so much and couldn’t find one like it or super expensive and they allowed me to buy it for a greattt deal! Super sweet and helpful ladies :) only downside is the location is more of a walk to Sannenzaka compared to...
