Valley Gallery — Local services in Naoshima

1 for the staff in the exhibition of Narcissus Garden. Gained a very disappointed and bad experience from the visit of Valley Gallery. As the staff at the entrance had reminded all visitors no video taking allowed, I found a woman had kept filming all the way in the exhibition of Narcissus Garden. The staff there just shown his face with impatience and DID NOT EVEN STOP HER while he realized the woman's misbehavior. Even if the woman kinda blocked the way for visitors due to her intent to take videos slowly, the staff said nothing. Even if I tried reminding the staff like "is it okay for taking video here?", the staff expressed a VERY RUDE and IMPATIENT attitude to let me go away. This is the most awful experience from the trip as now I know this is how the staffs treat visitors following the rules and somehow ruin our respects toward...

Out of most of the Naoshima museums the Benesse was the only one worth paying th price for. The bubbles were actually very interesting and nice to look at and the main museum was good as well and the restaurant food was tasty. The only complain I have is that the online ticket system is an absolute trash and the WiFi/ connection ( i was ussing roaming) on island is so horrible so it's impossible to but the ticket online so you are forced to pay extra fee on the spot. A bit of a doggy business here. Also the staff is super annoying. They literally follow you everywhere. I felt super uncomfortable and uneasy. In general the island is very money oriented and there are better island to visit...

Some tips for those looking to go who are not Benesse guests:

final entry is 3:30pm, 30 mins before closing you will have to park your bike 15 mins away by foot. Those getting dropped off by a taxi must also walk 15 mins to reach the gallery. in order to enter the gallery, you’ll need to purchase a tick at the main museum. Catch a bus inside Benesse to get to the museum, rather than walking. There, you’ll buy your Benesse tickets that come with a Valley Gallery pass.
