Pretty much this entire southern part of the island is locked behind a pay-wall of the Bennesse House Museum. You can only gain entry to the park and coastline by paying the 1500yen fee, which also does give you entrance to the main museum. However, you need to leave your vehicles and even bikes at either the west or east gate and walk everywhere on the premises. Considering the sun was blasting outside, this was at times an unpleasant situation.
