Benesse House Area East Gate — Local services in Naoshima

There’s some lovely free outdoor art around here that you can access on foot or by parking your electric bike nearby at the East Gate or take the local bus on a posted schedule. The pumpkin is here, the famous symbol of Naoshima. Some fun works by Niki de Saint-Phalle. Some chairs are positioned near some beautiful pine trees. It’s nice.

Shocking and disappointing that bikes are prohibited when the tourism office promotes them so much. You have to walk quite a way to get to the exhibits but it would have been great on bike. Buses and mopeds allowed and are not driving slowly or carefully so being a pedestrian isn’t comfortable. Beach full of trash next to the statues, maybe redirect funding from the security guards harassing bikers to maintaining...
