Tamade Supermarket - Tenjinbashi store — Local services in Osaka

Say what you will about Tamade and its seedy reputation and occasional cockroach, this is a uniquely Osakan staple. The lights outside of this 24 hour supermarket remind me of the night time streets of Kowloon, always inviting, but very sorry for the people who live within sight.

This Tamade offers unprepared and prepared foodstuffs densely packed in a tiny two-storey building. Half faces a fantastic 商店街, while the other faces the street. If you enter from the street, watch your head, if you exit into the 商店街, take care not to get lost on your way out.

Many say not to eat the food from here, but I've eaten many 弁当, snacks, fruit, and baked goods from here without feeling bad. I have stayed away from the raw meats and seafood, probably best to save those for ライフ or some more reputable supermarket. So why Tamade? It's nearby, it's 24 hours, and it is super inexpensive! Good supermarket for foreigners's needs. Affordable prices and friendly staffs. I really like to buy some stuffs from this store and obviously recommended store for you if you want to buy something in cheap prices.
