Tokyo, Ikebukuro - went to this location for ichiran ramen. First time to any ichiran actually so it's exciting! The line at 6:30pm was about 10 people in, but that wait was maybe just 30 mins so it wasn't bad at all. We're a party of 3 so we're expecting a longer wait, but we got lucky to be able to get seated together fairly quickly once we're at the front of the line. We were given a piece of paper to indicate how rich our broth should be, firmness of noodles, spicy level etc, then on the screen we chose our toppings and made a payment that would print out a few tickets for all the added toppings and dessert etc.
I love how efficient the place is. There are hooks for coats and baskets for bags behind you. You hand them the tickets at your confession booth window and they will bring out your order in a very quick manner without having to see each other's faces, minus the dessert (green tea pudding which is amazing) which could be served later after the meal when you're ready.
Anyway, don't wanna spoil the whole thing for you. The ramen is the best I've had. It might not be the richest broth, but it's rich without being fatty, rich and clean. How many ramenya can achieve that? Far too few. The noodles and spicy level were also perfect. I added the egg, and it's the first time I had to peel it, a perfectly medium-boiled egg that's still very easy to peel. The pork was tender without having too much fat. I think if you've eaten enough ramen or cooked some yourself before, you'll really appreciate and understand why they're they #1 ramen in Japan.
Service was great too. Have no complaints. So glad I got to try this place...

If you’re a fan of the ever so popular Ichiran ramen chain restaurant then you should definitely consider stopping by this location because it’s significantly less busy in comparison.
Because of this reason, we found ourselves returning here more frequently despite having our hotel in Shibuya because it was well worth the time saved.
Like all Ichiran locations, you’ll need to pay with cash in order to dine here. I can’t remember now if there was some sort of ATM outside but just keep that in mind to help speed up the process or you’ll have waited in line for nothing.
Despite it being advertised as a solo dining experience, you can also move the divider between seats for a more intimate and shared space. We, of course, only found this out on the very last night of our trip when we saw another couple doing that. So hopefully this tip helps all of the group travelers out!
The quality of the ramen here is as great at any of their other locations and they do also have instant ramen versions in case you want to take the ramen experience back home with you. I never bought any because I didn’t think it would be the same as dining in and it gives me something to look forward to...
