The ancient coffee shop offers excellent service and a diverse menu. The coffee they serve is delicious; I tried two items from their menu, and both had unique flavors—sweet, yet the coffee still shone through. I sampled the iced coffee with the French name, which was surprisingly good.

The ambiance is perfect for deep conversations with a partner, friend, or relative. The lighting is dim, creating a melancholic atmosphere that enhances the experience.

However, there are a few areas for improvement, particularly the restroom. I found it less than clean, and there was no bidet. After enjoying a good coffee, having a clean restroom to visit is nice, but unfortunately, this place falls short.

Another note is that they only accept cash—no credit cards—so prepare in advance—prices for coffee range from 750¥ to 1000¥.

A nice moody old-school cafe.

They offer great atmosphere (with antique furniture, Chinaware sets, stained glass windows, dark lighting), music, and space. Around lunch time on a weekday, there was hardly any smoker, if that's a concern for you. But they do have a smoking section.

The service was very attentive but without being in-your-face. I saw a young man behind the counter quietly looking around every so often, making sure everybody was getting what they wanted.

Last but not the least, their coffee was legit. We had Cafe de l'Ambre (not overly sweet and nicely fancy) and a hot Dominican coffee (nice level of acidity). Their Mont Blanc was perfect -- just sweet enough to match the coffee.

This incredibly popular coffee shop is highly recommended! The decor is classic Western style, and several baristas are on hand. If you sit at the bar, you can watch them meticulously prepare the coffee. We ordered iced chocolate, their signature Cafe Royal, cheesecake and chocolate cake. As our drinks were being served, the lights at our seats suddenly went out. It turned out to be a presentation for the signature coffee—a fantastic touch! All the food and drinks were excellent.
