Yasukuni Shrine's enshrined people were chosen who has some criteria, especially military. However, here is for all japanese people of dead in the WW2. Also, here has been buried unknown dead in the battle field of abroad. Flowers for offerings are also sold individually, so even if you don't have time or it's a sudden visit, if you're in the area, please come and visit. 【 2025/03/30(日)訪問 】 千鳥ヶ淵緑道沿い、千鳥ヶ淵ボート乗り場🚣近くにある「千鳥ヶ淵戦没者墓苑」は、先の大戦において海外で亡くなられた戦没者の御遺骨を納めるため、昭和34(1959)年、国により建設された「無名戦没者の墓」です。

ここに納められている御遺骨は、昭和28(1953)年以降、政府派遣団が収集したもの及び戦後海外から帰還した部隊や個人により持ち帰られたもので、軍人軍属のみならず、海外において犠牲となられた一般邦人も含まれており、いずれも遺族に引き渡すことのできないものです。

約5,000坪の敷地内には、六角堂、昭和天皇御製(ぎょせい)の碑、上皇天皇御製の碑などがあり、六角堂では100円で菊の花一輪を献花台にお供えすることが出来ます（^人^）

[ 六角堂 ] 六角形の納骨堂で、中央に陶棺(とうかん→陶製の棺)をおき、その下に主な戦域別の六部屋に分けた地下室が設けられていて、鋳鉄製納骨壺に遺骨が安置されているそうです。

[ 昭和天皇御製の碑 ] 墓苑創建の年の秋、昭和天皇陛下から下賜(かし)された御製(ぎょせい)を秩父宮妃殿下が謹書(きんしょ)され、昭和35(1960)年3月28日に竣工したものです。

[ 上皇陛下御製の碑 ] 終戦60周年を迎えるにあたり、新春「歌会始の儀」で詠まれた上皇陛下の御製(ぎょせい)を、常陸宮妃殿下が謹書(きんしょ)され、平成17(2005)年9月27日に竣工したものです。
