Kita-no-maru Park — Attraction in Tokyo

This location we accidentally found when we were leaving the Arts and Crafts Museum. It was our favorite park in all of Tokyo! So do not miss it. Now large but makes up for its size by the quality of the vegetation and serenity of the location. We were there in early August and the vegetation was at its height of a rich green color. All shades of green are here at this time and prepare your eyes for them by looking at the different locations and how the green color changes as you move from open field to shaded woods. The paths are well places for this exercise.

It is the one part of the Imperial Palace ground open to the public and is directly connected to the Eastern Imperial Palace Gardens. Admission to both is free. Although large, the Kitanomaru Park and Eastern Gardens may not be as impressive as Kōrakuen or Rikugien, but they are well worth a visit, if only for the huge moats surrounding their northern and western sides and the great Tayasu-mon Gate on the Kudanshita side, which gives an idea of the fortress that Edo...

Peaceful and safe, large park. Nothing sensational but nice relaxing spot and walking spot for locals. Good for picnics. There is a pond but no barrier. Budokan looks nice and is used for concerts and large events. The entrance 'mon' are spectacular. Crowded during sakura season as it's close to chigorigabuchi. There are toilet facilities in the park and If it rains there are sitting areas with covers/roofs. Nice museums within walking...
