Mandarake Nayuta — Local services in Tokyo

Within walking distance of the Yamanote Line's Ikebukuro Station, this Mandarake outlet is located in B2 of a small shopping mall.

Entry is via stairs and escalator (note : the mall lifts don't go to B2), but barriers are in place till about 1030am at which point, the security guard comes along to remove them and allow access to B2. Same security guard also opens the shutters to the store which is a bit strange as you'd expect store staff to do that....

While Mandarake occupies the entire B2, the building footprint is on the smaller side so its mid-sized compared to the other Mandarakes in Akiba, Osaka DenDenTown and Fukuoka. Nevertheless, they had some rare mini-mecha kits for sale and even 2 Macross Glaug models available whereas i've only seen other outlets carry one or none.

This shop specializes in secondhand figures, models, toys and collectibles. A lot of their products are usually more expensive than the retail cost, but they do sometimes have some cheap deals. This is a good place to look if you're after limited edition items. They also have a modest amount of Gundam models, but you should always check the big electronic store's prices as they might be cheaper brand new, for example, I saw a model kit for ¥3,000 that was second, but I went to Labi 1 and found it for...

The selection is pretty decent but since the location is in a tourist focused area, the prices will be a bit steep. Even then, compared to other mandarake stores, this store's selection is a bit smaller than normal. I couldn't find much other than mainstream prize figures and Pokemon focused items. I wish it was a bit more affordable but overall not as bad as...
