As an international student from Indonesia, I'm grateful and proud to be part of Sabah Institute of Art student. My experience at SIA as a Graphic Design student has been nothing but exceptional. From the moment I stepped onto the campus, I was greeted with a vibrant learning environment that made education feel more like an enjoyable journey rather than a tedious task. Whether it's through multimedia presentations, group discussions, or hands-on activities, every lesson is designed to evoke curiosity and creative thinking process. Moreover, the lecturers and staff at SIA deserve commendation for their unwavering support and friendliness. During my study, the lecturers and staff are always willing to go out of their way to help and assist students in the best way possible. This also makes me as a student become more enthusiast to push myself and giving my best in my study. In addition to academic excellence, the college actively encourages participation in social activities related to art and design. From exhibitions showcasing student artwork to workshops on various creative disciplines, this allowed me to build up my portfolio as a graphic designer. There's always something happening on campus that fosters creativity and cultural exchange. In conclusion, my time at SIA especially as a Graphic Design student here has been nothing short of transformative. With its excellent learning environment, supportive staff, and vibrant social activities, the college has truly exceeded my expectations. During my SPM days, a relative of mine recommended I further my studies at Sabah Institute of Art. Intrigued, I looked at the courses and was drawn to their fashion design course. Looking at their current students and alumni, the students have achieved a great level of skill during their time in SIA, so I decided to apply, and I have zero regrets about it. Everybody here is extremely helpful and supportive from the staff to the students and are always willing to go out of their way to help each other, even those they aren't close with. It's a wonderful experience social-wise and it's no difference academic wise. Every lecturer simply wants all their students to succeed and provide students with challenges that will allow them to hone and level up their skills, and they do everything they can to guide students throughout the process of each assignment. They are also very patient and understanding. We as students are also exposed to a lot of events and opportunities that allow us to make connections and build up our portfolio as artists that will help us in the long run, for example fashion design students are given the opportunity to design a handbag for Hilton hotel and participate in producing garments for the UEDA fashion show in Japan.
