Restoran M Salim ipoh HQ — Restaurant in Perak

Unpleasant experience. My friend from Singapore and I went there for breakfast (9-10am). When we arrived, the restaurant was packed with customers so we were standing there not knowing what to do. There were staffs having their meals looking at us, but didnt say anything. After standing for awhile, we tried to approach one staff, asking nicely if we could get a table for two in which he replied with a sour face “Sabar lah!”. We asked because we didnt know how the restaurant’s way of doing things. Anyway we waited and waited and then finally we got one table after a family finished their meals. We sat down, and waited for our tables to be cleaned but no one came. Maybe they didnt notice us I thought. So I raised my hand and smiling at one of the staff, the sour face guy came again cleaning the table, but then said “kita tahu lah ini kerja kita!”. I said thank you to him despite having no more apetite to eat there. He took our order, we ordered roti kosong dua for me, and roti kahwin for my SG friend. And one ayam goreng. Came to us roti kosong 1, roti kahwin and ayam goreng freshly fried but sadly undercooked. Since they chopped the chicken, the blood came out and pooled underneath the chicken. We couldnt eat the chicken but we did try our best to not be wasteful and just eat the top part that wasnt touched by blood. I refused to complain directly on that day because I didnt want to deal with grumpy staff again. It was morning, and all we wanted was having a good hearty breakfast in Ipoh for the first time but clearly choosing that place was a bad idea. Ipoh is special. But not that restaurant. I will come back to ipoh and explore more in the future. But never again came to...

I heard so much about this place. My mouth was watery just thinking about their curry fish head. Finally I checked in along ask for one curry fish head for me so that I can try out before I invite my friend in the future. I am disappointed. They were reluctant to serve despite me asking them few times. Reason given portion too big for me. I said I want to try so that I know the quality. Again the whole gangs look at me weirdly. They say okay and took less than 4 minutes to cook, to my surprise. Well I had it to my satisfaction, portion not big, curry a bit salty. After whole dishes remaining only bones and gravy leftover, they ask why I didn't finish the whole thing? Huh... is there anything I did wrong? Well I am satisfied with the fish, unfortunately very disappointed with their services and attitude to their customer. Well I decided, I will try other curry fish house in Ipoh. Bye bye...

I had lunch here with my family, but to be honest, I don’t think I’ll be coming back. Personally, I feel the nasi kandar I’ve had in Penang is much better .The kuah campur here was quite watery compared to what I’m used to. Maybe it just didn’t suit my taste. The service wasn’t great either. What confused me most was that almost all the tables were marked as reserved, yet no one showed up for hours, and the names on the reserved signs seemed more like jokes.
