This restaurant was recommended to us by staff at the Hardrock and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere had a very nice upscale modern industrial vibe. The server was very kind and showed us the meat options available for that evening. He explained details about each cut of meat. My husband decided to enjoy the sirloin while I enjoyed the chicken. The server went above and beyond by taking my husband back to the kitchen area to show how they cook and prepare his cut of meat. At the table they let the meat “rest” while covered in rock salt which is its only form of seasoning because the cut of meat is so flavorful as is. The salt is then brushed off and cut into pieces that melt in your mouth. The chicken was also delicious and I really enjoyed the veggies and mashed potatoes it came with. We even got to try the Wagyu beef sliders at the street market and they were phenomenal. Overall this restaurant did not disappoint. We live near NYC and have been fortunate enough to dine at some of the top steakhouses and this was very comparable. We would definitely have recommend and will hopefully be back...
Read moreCarne Diem is a well-known steakhouse, and we visited it because several friends who have visited the island before recommended it. The place wasn’t crowded at all; just us and two other tables: which gave it a calm, quiet feel.
The staff were very friendly. Right after we sat down, they gave a short presentation explaining the different types of steak they offer, which was a nice touch.
We chose the sirloin steak, and they first cut the outer fat, cooked it, and served it as a small appetizer.
The steak itself was very tasty. we asked for extra well-done, and although it came a bit under, they happily cooked it more. The final result was perfect (10/10). They also served it tableside and cut it in front of us, which felt like a live show.
On the other hand, the burger was very disappointing (2/10), and the mashed potatoes were just half a potato ...not impressive (6/10).
The kids’ chicken nuggets were surprisingly good (9/10).
Final words, It was nice to try once, especially for the steak and service. But overall, the place felt overrated and too expensive for...
Read moreGreat steaks , French rack and good but overpriced burgers ! Don’t order their tomato soup. Their steaks are very pricey so after great deliberation ,ordered the rib eye 1 kg for 220 usd . They have a custom to add rock salt to the steak once done and brought to the table ,and then remove it after a couple of minutes - the problem is they put too much rock salt so the steak becomes salty! The bill was a shocker - they claimed they served us 1.25 kg steak so our bill went over budget by over 55 usd - this is not a good policy- the restaurant must serve the size ordered or at the very least inform and get the approval of the customer of the weight of the steak...
