Kalhu Odi - Maldivian Restaurant — Restaurant in Malé Atoll

This review is about 3 weeks late, but my wife and I still remember many details of the lunch we had - yes it was that memorable.

Service was excellent. The people were all very friendly and hospitable. The manager picked us up from the jetty, and took us to the restaurant on a buggy, explaining some of the sights we passed along the way. In the restaurant, he also explained more about the architecture, history, and culture. We enjoyed his descriptions and explanations.

Food was fantastic. Even after we are back in Singapore, the wife has been raving about the tuna steak we tasted at this restaurant, saying it was the best dish she had on our 9-day trip to the Maldives.

Overall this is slightly expensive, but acceptable considering the quality of food and service. Definitely the "possibly only" highlight of our day trip to the island, and almost worth the hassle and frustrations of getting over to the...

This was one of the few restaurants featuring Maldivian fare at crossroads. That was why we took the leap to go and try it. It was an easy bike ride from the Hard Rock resort. It was included in our all inclusive food package so we paid nothing for our food and drinks. The restaurant was dimly lit and tastefully decorated so perfect for a mood-setting couples diner. The food was fantastic. The Crispy, airy fired Pandan strips were addictive to say the least. Buttery and light.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, walking us through what the dishes were and being attentive but not overbearing.

We had two amazing dinner at Kalhu Odi . Authentic Maldivian food in a nice and friendly environment, with local and seasonal food served and cooked up to perfection. We followed the suggestions of the staff and ate some amazing tuna, both as a steak and in a curry, mai mai with rice, and terrific fish soup.
