Noel and Donny were terrific and gave us an amazing experience, we would however point to a few admin issues with this trip that needs improving.
The boat is amazingly comfortable, food and drink are provided throughout. The food is excellent quality. Sun cream and towels are available and on boat facilities like toilet clean and comfortable. All cooler equipment like yeti cups are excellent and top of the line. The facilities are top and you can customise the tunes if you ask!
You also get quite stunning snorkeling, the equipment is excellent (no leaky masks) and you see some stunning sights. We saw lobster, manta rays and starfish in crystal clear waters and it's a quite amazing experience in beautiful surroundings. The waters are stunning and it's a unique and relaxed way to see the island.
Food is delicious, the fish provided for the main dinner was absolutely amazing as was the guacamole and tacos. All well prepared and very relaxed in a phenomenal location. Donny and Noel made us feel exceptionally well looked after all day.
Our only negative would be some of the administrative points in this trip 1.) when initially booking, we made clear we were staying in Playa del Carmen via WhatsApp. The recommendation from the tour was we were picked up in Puerto aventuras. This was a long way from our hotel and is a long way from Cozumel resulting in lost time for the trip. 2.) We did not have an alternative option recommended to us. It was only when asking the boat drivers on the day we discovered that far better for us would have been to get the ferry from Playa Del Carmen. This would have avoided needing a 2 hour boat trip to Cozumel from Playa Aventuras. We were not provided with options at time of booking. We were also not told the choice of pick up location would mean a 2 hour trip from Puerto Aventuras to arrive to Cozumel and this meant less snorkel time. We were only provided a single link to book the trip, not options to extend this time and not options for pick up 3.) the Comms were poor for this, with the impact (i.e less snorkel time due to pick up) only being communicated on the day as we were travelling to Puerto aventuras. We also had the pick up point location poorly communicated to us and on asking to extend the time for snorkelling we were told we could pay to extend but that was only option. This could have been avoided if we had had the ferry recommended to us on booking.
Donny and Noel to their credit arranged with the company a change of plans on our return and we were able to get a bit more time on the water by changing our drop off point to Cozumel. They also arranged for our taxi and return ferry to be paid for which was extremely kind of them and we thank them / the company for doing as a make good.
All in all we loved the trip and hope the company takes the criticism constructively as a point to improve in future. We recommend the trip as a whole for an amazing way to see Cozumel and surrounding waters as a couple or a...
Read moreWe had a fabulous party on the Deluxe Exile 40’ catamaran to celebrate my 60th Birthday! There were 16 of us (4 kids, 12 adults) and it was awesome! We arrived at the marina and their office was easy to locate. We paid our balance on the boat and we were off to board the boat. When we got on, the outside table was already filled with fruit and veggies to start our trip. As soon as we were on the water, the crew took our drink order and a few of us had bloody Mary’s that were very good. They had a cooler of beer, water, soda, and top shelf liquor. The drinks were served in Yeti cups which were great to keep our drinks cold on that hot day! We cruised for about a half hour or so and then anchored to snorkel in some deep water. The experienced snorkelers loved it, but the novices had a harder time as the waves were pretty big and it was a struggle if you weren’t a good swimmer. One of the guys from the crew were in the water with us and before we got in explained the signs to let him know if you were good or needed help or if you saw a shark (which thankfully we didn’t). He was very helpful for those who needed/wanted to get out and got them back in the boat safely. Once we were done there, we went to another area which was shallower and lots of boats were around. The crew put out a big floatie that was like a pool and a splash pad which was fun too! While everyone was playing in the water and snorkeling (lots of sting rays in this area), they prepared our lunch for us. The lunch was amazing and consisted of ceviche, tuna tar tar, tuna sashimi, quesadillas, chips and guacamole, crackers with cream cheese and jelly. Everyone loved it, even the kids! On our way back, they brought out a beautiful little birthday cake for me, that I shared with whoever wanted some! After that, we cruised back to the marina. They called taxi’s for us, so they were there waiting for us to bring us back to the resort. It was a wonderful day and I highly recommend a trip with Deluxe Boat Tours! Hopefully, we will be back...
Read moreOur El Cielo tour aboard this 40' boat at Cozumel in Mexico was definitely special, and that may be an understatement. If you're willing to spend ≦$1,000, this specific boat can be yours for 3+ hours and it's worth it. Whether you're simply resting inside the cabin after taking a swim, having a snack while watching the sea waves through a window in the interior seating area or tanning on the deck whilst gliding on the beautiful Caribbean Sea listening to your favorite music, this boat does have it's share of amenities to enjoy. It gets better if you take advantage of the activities included such as 🎣 , 🤿 , 🏊 and sand bar sightings. This tour company also has many offerings to choose from, including a 40' catamaran and 2 smaller boats that are priced lower. The service on board was good, the crew member was attentive, helpful and friendly whilst the captain was calm, polite and professional. The food and drinks were also good and you will also be greeted on board with a nice fruit platter which sets a nice tone for the experience. The staff member on board even guided us while snorkeling where you can spot starfish, sea turtles 🐢, fish 🐠 and even large coral reef 🪸 systems if you choose so (just be prepared to hold your breath to snap that perfect picture under the water during a snorkel, it took me and my wife few tries 😂). Overall though, this was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it if you're around the area. A few things to note: the boats disembark from Cozumel so if you're staying in Cancun or Playa del Carmen, separate transportation is needed to get to this popular island (transportation options are available including roundtrip ferries that are fully air-conditioned and safe). a deposit is required to book. -dietary restrictions can be accommodated. -premium add-ons are available for purchase such as specialty food items and champagne. tipping is not included. Have a fun and...
