My wife and I arrived on a cruise ship this morning and went on a snorkeling trip with Ramon and Javier, and I can’t say enough about what an amazing experience it was! We booked the 3 stop snorkeling trip and spent a couple of unforgettable hours in the water. From the moment we arrived at the boat, we felt welcomed, safe, and completely comfortable. You can tell right away that Ramon is dedicated to giving you the best experience possible.

On the ride to our first stop, Ramon took the time to teach us some great tips and tricks for using the snorkel gear. He showed us how to wear it comfortably, how to enter the water safely, and walked us through the entire game plan from start to finish. I should add that the gear we were provided was excellent and was better than anything we’ve used before. We were with another couple, and it was clear that Ramon paid close attention to everyone’s skill level, making sure we were always comfortable and confident in the water.

Once we got in, Ramon was an incredible guide, pointing out so many amazing things. We saw stingrays, multiple turtles, puffer fish, and hundreds of beautiful tropical fish.

We left this snorkeling trip with huge smiles on our faces and couldn’t stop talking about how it was the highlight of our vacation. We’re already thinking about coming back to Cozumel next year to vacation and try the beginner scuba diving classes with Ramon at Reef Riders.

After a recent trip to Cozumel, I chose to do my rescue diver and divemaster certification with Rámon and Reef Riders. I was hesitant to even embark on the journey of becoming a divemaster, but Rámon was there every step of the way as my mentor and cheerleader. I spent 6 weeks on the island and logged 50+ dives in every open dive site in Cozumel's marine park! I led a handful of dives (including a twilight dive!) and assisted divers of all skill levels. I even conducted a Discover Scuba Diving training with a new friend I made on the island. I gained confidence in my abilities as a diver while learning to think like a divemaster. This could never have happened without Rámon's help.

I ultimately chose Reef Riders because of its size and owner. It was vital for me to learn from a local and to have 1:1 instruction from the divemaster. These attributes are virtually unheard of in a diving mecca like Cozumel. Rámon went out of his way to guide me with the patience of a seasoned instructor. He cares deeply about his work and attention to detail. Over the 6 weeks I spent on the island, Rámon took time out of his day to meet with me over coffee or breakfast to discuss the days ahead and answer any questions I had about the course and training. He was available to chat about anything I needed help with and offered clear communication about expectations and outcomes of the course. He even welcomed me to outings with his beautiful family to experience Cozumel's culture.

My family took a cruise and we stopped at Cozumel. We booked a private boat with Reef Riders. Ramon emailed us prior to our trip and asked specifically what we wanted out of our 4 hour trip. There were six adults in my family so we decided everyone wanted to snorkel, but I was scuba certified and I really wanted to see the reef. He responded back with a plan that met ALL of our needs. I was able to snorkel with my family and went on two dives. Ramon brought Diana a Certified diver of five years along that would dive with me while my family snorkel above with Ramon. She prepped me for our dives and explained everything I needed and even told me specific fish to look out for and I felt extremely safe and spoiled. She was very Passionate about diving and it showed. Having my own guide was amazing Diana pointed out sea turtles, shark, barracuda, crabs, lobster, morel eel, trigger fish, parrot fish, trumpet fish, stingrays along with hundreds of other Tropical fish. Ramon would periodically Free dive down with his GoPro and video me along with my family above as we drifted along the current. Everyone had an amazing experience and the courtesy and knowledge of Ramon, Javier and Deanna were exceptional. Javi made some homemade salsa that was amazing.
