We had the most amazing experience with ScubaLuis in Cozumel! From start to finish, everything was seamless, professional, and so much fun.

Luis was incredibly responsive and helpful, communicating with us quickly through WhatsApp. He even went above and beyond by calling dive shops in town to track down special ear plugs for diving, letting us know exactly where to go and what time they were open. That kind of care and attention immediately set the tone for how dedicated this team is to their guests.

Our crew for the day—Captain DD and Dive Master Charlie—were absolutely outstanding. They took such good care of our group, which included three discovery divers and myself snorkeling (I’m pregnant and unable to dive, and they generously let me snorkel for free). Their passion for the ocean and genuine excitement for sharing it with others was contagious.

Charlie, in particular, was phenomenal with our group. One of our friends was pretty hesitant about diving, but with Charlie’s patience, clear instructions, and encouragement, she felt completely comfortable and ended up falling in love with diving. That transformation alone spoke volumes about how skilled and caring he is as an instructor.

We had so much fun on our first outing that we immediately messaged Luis to see if we could go again the very next day. Without hesitation, they accommodated us and even took us to two entirely new dive sites so the experience felt fresh and unique.

I've been diving with ScubaLuis for the last 3 years. I've been diving in Cozumel since 2014. I make 4 trips per year and tried 6 different shops in the first 4 years. When a fellow Okie recommended ScubaLuis I was so happy. He truly runs a great dive operation with safety at the top of his priorities, and treating everyone like they are family. Early departures each day guarantee that you and a few other shops will have the reef for the first 30 minutes or more. It also guarantees you'll be back in town with a lot of the day left for other adventures. Small fast boats with 6 divers per boat, snacks, fresh fruit, and fresh water for the surface intervals are always great. If you're diving all day, Luis will give you the option of being dropped off at the Money Bar while he goes back to the marina and swaps out tanks. We've even had him drop us off after morning diving and we just cab it back to town. Luis is very knowledgeable about the reefs and the island. He grew up here and knows it well. He speaks perfect English and communicates via WhatsApp or phone calls. I always know what's going on if the weather turns ugly. He also stores and cleans my gear daily. We loved our week with Luis! Our family of six had different skill levels of divers from experienced to first open water divers. We dove with Luis and Jaime and really enjoyed both. Our boat captain Marino was amazing! Courteous and safe. Jaime tied us palm leave origami creatures in between dives. We dove for a week and dove 4 times a day most days. We did a twilight and night dive which was awesome. They had the best boat snacks including fresh fruit, chips, baked goods and plenty of other snacks. They let us choose our dives. Luis was really good at working with new divers and adjusted equipment and trained our less experienced divers before and during the dives. We saw everything one would hope to see in Cozumel including eels, nurse sharks, huge eagle rays, sting rays, toad fish, octopus turtles, tropical fish and pipe fish. Luis was super respectful of the marine life. Sometimes with the current is was a challenge to keep all of us together and point out cool stuff but they did a great job.
