FEB 2023 (1st visit) - Quick cab ride from cruise port, good and affordable priced food and drink, private little sun or shade sandbox area with lounge chairs right in front of the rocky beach, and access to pool with fountain if you are not into snorkeling. Enrique and Kiki take great pride in taking utmost care of the day's guests- think it opened at 10a. No butterfly garden at this point (Feb. 2023), but as a cruise passengers with teens just wanting some beach time, sun and shade, food, and drink, this was hard to beat. They also rent snorkel gear and have bathrooms and lockers. Low key way to spend not a ton of $ for a ton of value. Think it was around $20 per person and included dos cervezas each and also good chips and salsa, and menu featured ceviche among other texmex options. Tell cab driver ($13 US) to go to Money Bar-this is right next door. No need to use Mexican pesos, accept USD but were cash only.
UPDATE from NOV. 2023 (2nd visit) - We took another cruise and visited again, and they were running a brisk business with some new employees. So while not as sleepy as our first visit (to which I attribute some % due to my praise on Google ;), it was still good food, shady picnic tables (a few mosquitoes), clean pool, restrooms, snorkel gear for rent, and good basic Mexican food for not too much $. Slightly more expensive, yes, but not exorbitant. Walkway into the water seemed to have be used a lot (no "bridge" needed anymore), but the snorkeling was still good, especially out near the rope in 20-30 feet of water. Fins recommended though; current was fairly strong. Just tell the server when you're ready to leave and a cab will be there in less than 5 mins. - we had a group of 8 and he called...
Read moreMy husband and I were staying in Playa del Carmen and took a day trip to Cozumel and ended up here late in the day. What a gem! The drinks were great, the vibe was very laid back, service was impressive! They have tables and seating set up across the street on the beach and a little ramp to safety get into the beautiful waters! We decided to come back to Cozumel the following day just to be able to spend more time here. There is a lady who spoke fluent English that told us that they would be closed for a holiday, but that we were still welcome to enjoy the beach there! We rented a scooter and brought our own drinks and snacks, but really wish we could have enjoyed their drinks again. This place feels more "local" and would go back in a heart beat. Apparently they rent...
Read moreWow i went here to enjoy a simple beach club low frills, better prices and the reviews are not accurate. The place is super small, just a few tables on beach side, the pool has seen better days, missing lots of tiles. I would be fine with that though since I wanted a simple place to hang without paying a lot. The food menu was a total rip off. I ended up paying more here for two drinks and two meals than at buccanos and at least at buccanos you have a great atmosphere. Also hair in the fajitas. Should have taken a picture of the menu. $15 for mixed drinks. $20 for chicken fajitas. Beer was $4 that’s the only redeeming quality. Great snorkeling walking in but you can literally sit on either side of this place on beach for free...
