Restaurant El Fogón — Restaurant in Jalisco

A pleasant surprise! We landed in Tequila and like any other tourist we didn’t know were to eat. We only have a short amount of time and needed to eat prior to our Tequila Distillery tour. We looked at the rating for this place and decided to try it since it was near us (Downtown).

My buddy and I walked approximately two blocks and went in here. We sat at a nice round table with leather artisan seats.

The waitress handed us the menu and she took our orders in a timely fashion.

I ordered eggs ranchero style and a coffee (cafe de oya).

The food came with slices of bread (bolillo) two eggs and beans. The eggs were perfectly cooked (over easy) and the beans have chorizo, which made them incredibly tasty. The bread was soft and the ranchero sauce was delicious.

Just a note that normally when I get the specialty coffee it’s pre-sweetened with piloncillo. Unfortunately this one wasn’t. Still enjoyed it after adding some sugar.
