Beautiful Gym but giving it 3 stars because as most things in México it’s not quite well thought completely. Here is why:
It seems that the owners really don’t care about the quality of service in there. Just really sad because it has quite a potential. But there is not much other competition around that’s why seem not to really care.
Regardless of these 7 things that is very annoying, I love the classes, equipment and location as it’s close to my house. There is even amazing and big climbing wall that no one seem to use it. They should do some classes in there. I’d love to climb but I don’t see any instructors. Plus cute coffee shop right downstairs.
P.s. I wrote all this in hope that maybe it will catch attention of the owners to do some minor improvements and navigate their stuff to assist better. So I can change my review...
Read moreI used to really like Qi back in the day like 2016-17 when the equipment was newer, the staff and teachers were better (the Yoga classes were AMAZING back in the day....) , they actually ran the central air and A/C to clean the air, they had a free towel service, and most importantly they charged a much more reasonable $50USD a month. This place just used to have the best vibe. Sadly, over the last 2-3 years the gym has totally fallen apart, while the prices have gone skyrocketing. No more towel service, they shut the A/C off 3 years ago it was never turned on ever again. The quality of the classes has gone down a lot. The infrastructure itself is also looking poor with the ceilings and walls literally crumbling, and mold and mildew showing up in more places. The machines are getting older and breaking down. You would think with the gym in such a sorry state they would have lowered their fees but from early 2022 to early 2023 they want from $60usd to $80usd to $100usd to now a jaw dropping $120usd. I heard since I left they’re charging even more. It seems they are caught in a death spiral with more and more people leaving and them charging more and more to whoever remains. Not...
Read moreThe gym is alright, apart from what they charge an the girls locker room not only looks terrible but the steam room didn't work 9 out of 12 months.
My main issue is that they collaborate with Oscar Velazquez, who stole the ice bath concept from his initial partner Ed, then asked Mario to collaborate to facilitate breathwork and ice baths and never paid him for several months of working together and owes him more then 50k as of my last knowledge. He has done the same to 2 additional people in our community. A few of us have called him out with no response.
On top of this, he is not Wim Hof certified and called Ed, after some people's fingers went numb after using the ice bath (because all the people he didn't pay had quit) He did not understand that permanent nerve damage can occur if the ice bath is too cold.
There are plenty of certified breathwork and ice bath instructors. Mario started icecoldture (insta) for example with Fabio and I can highly recommend it. I'm sharing this because its unethical to use people. Greedy egotistical men who profit and steal from others should be called out and I hope others will voice...
