Updated 8/1/2021: I took the manager Sergio up on his offer. This was a make-up for the bad experience I had 2 days ago. I went back for dinner. Brenda was my server and she was the consummate professional as is Sergio. I had a lovely dinner; he again apologized for the bad experience and told me he’s working on improvements (he was just transferred to this location). I thanked him for taking my experience seriously & for the meal. I told him this gesture has made any bad feelings go away. I ordered from the complete course dinner menu which I liked. The hibiscus (jamaica) & chia drink was amazingly fresh! The spaghetti arrived at the table piping hot and the lentil soup was the perfect starter. I have no doubt Sergio will raise the bar at this place. He is the epitome of exceptional service. He has convinced me to come back.
Update 7/30/2021: I guess I forgot how bad my last experience was so that I stopped by for BF today. Again, incredibly disappointing. The woman who waited on me forgot an item I ordered; the chilaquiles I ordered arrived cold; I could not find her to ask for more coffee since the order took so long my coffee got cold & then, when I flagged down the manager to let him know about my experience & ask him for the bill, the woman charged me 3 coffees when I only had 2.
I did let the manager (Sergio) know this was the 2nd time of consistently horrible service & food. He was very apologetic & went out of his way to try and make it right. He gave me a free latte & invited me to come back when he’s working & said he’d give me a meal on the house. I thoroughly applaud his professionalism. I basically paid $225 pesos ($11 USD for two small drip coffees bc I ate almost none of the food). I appreciate him taking my experiences seriously. I hope Sergio is able to effect positive changes & turn this place around. He definitely has the right attitude and approach.
Original review:
I paid almost $15 USD for a breakfast that was subpar and so tasteless I couldn’t even eat half of it. Won’t be back. There are so many other great choices for BF in CDMX, no need to pay for...
Read moreI came here for breakfast with my family because we thought that the brunch deal was a great option for us. The menu stated that the brunch came with a croissant, orange juice, American coffee, a fruit bowl, yogurt and granola along with your choice of a main dish. We all ordered the brunch special and were served our drinks quickly. The orange juice was great and the coffee was good. I asked for soy milk and received it but upon asking for more, my request was ignored twice. The food came and needless to say, we were extremely disappointed. One of the brunches came without the croissant and we needed to ask for it. Two of the people in my party ordered the Mexican eggs with a side of beans and they did not give us any beans, purely bean soup. Upon complaining, the waitress was quick to state that that’s how the beans came but we were not given any beans, just soup.
Overall, the portions were extremely small and overpriced for what it is. I would avoid this place as it feels like a scam, there are so many other wonderful places to eat in CDMX. I would...
Read moreWe have been going here for breakfast EVERYDAY for over a month. I like the food and it reminds me of the branch that closed down in London. Usually it's great but today I felt disappointed by the service. I ordered a wrap with no bacon as I'm a vegetarian. The wrap arrived with bacon and I felt upset as I hadn't noticed and eaten 10% of it. The waitress took it away and returned with half a wrap and said it was tomato and not bacon in the first order. I've eaten the same wrap MANY times and knew she wasn't being honest. I don't mind mistakes, we all make them, but not dishonesty. I was still hungry after half a wrap. Why return with just half a wrap. I explained to another waitress and they made a new one. I have felt upset all day. It was the dishonesty and complete lack of care. She really didn't care. Just say "sorry, I made a mistake". And at the end she wanted to know if I was going to give her a tip....
