It's good that it's open 24/7 so you can avoid the endless checkout lines. There are always lines of at least 30 minutes for the cash registers with a person, and of the 15 or so cajas they have, they always use like 4-5.. Never full capacity. Self checkout also have long lines because there's always people with more than 20 items (which is the limit, but nobody says anything) so it takes ages, people need assistance for buying alcohol but the assistants are not paying attention or are out of the area.. PIN/card terminals don't accept contactless payments so you need your physical card to put into the chip reader.. Very 2010! There many products that are frequently out of stock and won't restock for several days, like salsa matcha, a certain type of tortillas or even the most basic things like cilantro, tomatoes and broccoli.. Avocados are usually very hard so not ripe to eat the same day.. You would expect something better from a big chain like Walmart. It's always a hassle to obtain carts or the small trolleys, somehow they're always all in use or at least not to be found at the entrance of the store.. I'm sure you will get a urinal infection by just LOOKING at the bathroom area, it's filthy, not maintained and half of the faucets are not working. If you decide to go late at night when there's not immense long lines, keep in mind that between 11:30PM and midnight they close their cash registers to close off for the day, count the money etc, so that will cause yet another waiting line so make sure you pay for your stuff before 23:30 or after midnight ✨

Also the TAXI DRIVERS that are waiting for you at the end of the roll path and offer you their services are charging at least double compared to a taxi you get off the street. If you take them here in Walmart garage you will pay 100-150 pesos for a trip that should only cost you 50 pesos. You can get a regular priced taxi if you literally walk to the perimeter of the Walmart area and flag a cab off the street.

My question for the owner/management is: why don't you care about your store and your customers? You could make so much more money by hiring some extra checkout ladies to make the whole customer experience fast & smooth, and if you see a product sells out quick, why don't you order more quantity next time so it doesn't sell out that fast? There is so many to win on a lot of points of the store.. It will make Playa happy and you aswell because you will eventually...

Sneaky and Dishonest! I sent some money from USA to a friend. He got there, gave the code is required to get the money then they (the worker at Walmart) said that it has been picked up already. He said that that was impossible because the money was under his name and they needed a password and ID to hand it out (that he only had) Their response was, sorry, system just shows that money has been picked up, followed by “our system won’t allow to see any details about it, it just shows it has been picked up and that the sender (me) needed to go to the Walmart here and see what was going on. He called while he was there and told me the issue. I told him not to move and to wait there while I got to where I sent the money from. Once there, I gave the lady the receipt, explained the situation and she says, I don’t know what the issue is, the money is available, it hasn’t been picked up. I was on the phone with my friend and the people at his Walmart kept saying, sorry, it has been picked up but they didn’t have a way to back that up or even showed him what the issue with system was. It was a sharp, sorry, there is no money, you figure it out. Thankfully, we acted fast and since the money WAS STILL IN THE system here, we canceled the transaction and resent it through another server and location. 10 min later he went to that place and picked it up without a problem. You don’t have to be a genius to know what’s they were trying to do but I do hope they hire honest...

We are staying in Playa for a month. Prices here are often higher for anything we'd get in the US. i.e. sunscreen, bacon. The staff HAVE NO interest in helping you whatsoever. I have used a translation app, always ask politely in Spanish if they can help. Nope. Today two staff female staff members were just chatting, I asked for help to find something. One of the women basically just waved in a general direction (where we had already been looking) and went back to her conversation. We also wanted some bread rolls. Went to the bakery area early in the morning, there was a lady with literally 3 x 50 gallon trash bags with bread rolls in them. Each roll was being painstakingly removed with tongs by the woman behind the counter to weigh. The customer told her to help those of us with one bread item each first. She looked at us all and simply said no. I gave up. We needed a tv monitor to add to my husbands laptop for him to work while here. We removed one from a stack with a price clearly marked on the stack. Nope! Not the right price for all of the TV's in that stack, just a random price for a completely different tv. I give up. The guy behind the fish counter is the only person in the entire store who has been polite and smiling. Literally if you're American or look foreign, good luck. This is not the Walmart we...

September 2020— this location is convenient. Don’t expect anything in mexico to be fast. The tellers are slow and are more concerned with gossiping than working. If you plan to get a SIM card here, plan on at least 15-20 minutes added to your time. They offered ATT SIM cards with a good plan. Process is a bit tedious and they are required to call and set up, then they send you up front to pay... they aren’t friendly at the service center so plan on that taking a bit longer. Once you have paid you can go back and get your SIM card. Seems they should allow payments in the electronics center but they don’t. Bring your own bags or grab a big shopping cart. They won’t let you exit with one of the handheld black baskets. They do not allow families at this time so someone will be waiting outside if you decide to go with someone. The produce wasn’t the best selection either. I prefer chedraui but the Walmart was close by. Playa may be a touristy town but the Walmart is still for locals. It’s mexico and although some expect English speakers everywhere because it’s touristy don’t expect that here. Work on your spanish.

This Walmart in Playa was frankly a life saver! It was a 4 minute drive from our condo the Anah’s and had everything we needed if there was something missing. We had to buy organic sun screen for XelHa because the wouldn’t allow for regular chemical filled sunscreen. I had to purchase many pharmaceuticals and things for ladies that were important that I left back home. There was a large variety of beach 🏖 toys, supplies and clothing. It was Cinco De Mayo and we had lots of seasonal gifts to choose from. The pricing was fair but a lot of the staff only spoke Spanish. It was hard to find an english speaking sales person. I gave it a 4-star because when I went to do a return on a broken cooker bag, the lady ate her food in front of me, had me wait 10 minutes without telling me why, and spoke in constant Spanish to the other person behind the counter with a “I hate my job look.” This was the only negative thing to report. Also, AVOID the internal travel agency regarding the BREAKFAST TOUR for free tickets to something because we went, and spent 4.5 hours being high pressured into buying a luxury time share.

My sister and I have wonderful memories of taking our ailing dad here. Dad came to join us in ottawa after spending his entire life in Brockville. He needed dialysis and could not get on the list in Brockville so we brought him here to get treatment and stay with us. Wonderful memories! First dad was able to walk into Walmart with a cane . He felt right at home in his beloved Walmart . We used his card to shop for him and he monitored his points. Being part Scottish he likes to squeeze a nickel. We knew dad was safe having a coffee at the MacDonalds while we shopped. Later we would get the store wheelchair and wheel him in and get him settled. But soon he discovered the electric scooters and didn’t he have a blast scooting around helping pick out the best deals! Look at that smiling face! He was on dialysis three times a week and in and out of hospital with his congestive heart failure. But he still knew how to find joy, and this photo shows you his joy fullness in the simple things. Walmart really caters to the handicapped and we appreciate that.
