It's good that it's open 24/7 so you can avoid the endless checkout lines. There are always lines of at least 30 minutes for the cash registers with a person, and of the 15 or so cajas they have, they always use like 4-5.. Never full capacity. Self checkout also have long lines because there's always people with more than 20 items (which is the limit, but nobody says anything) so it takes ages, people need assistance for buying alcohol but the assistants are not paying attention or are out of the area.. PIN/card terminals don't accept contactless payments so you need your physical card to put into the chip reader.. Very 2010! There many products that are frequently out of stock and won't restock for several days, like salsa matcha, a certain type of tortillas or even the most basic things like cilantro, tomatoes and broccoli.. Avocados are usually very hard so not ripe to eat the same day.. You would expect something better from a big chain like Walmart. It's always a hassle to obtain carts or the small trolleys, somehow they're always all in use or at least not to be found at the entrance of the store.. I'm sure you will get a urinal infection by just LOOKING at the bathroom area, it's filthy, not maintained and half of the faucets are not working. If you decide to go late at night when there's not immense long lines, keep in mind that between 11:30PM and midnight they close their cash registers to close off for the day, count the money etc, so that will cause yet another waiting line so make sure you pay for your stuff before 23:30 or after midnight ✨
Also the TAXI DRIVERS that are waiting for you at the end of the roll path and offer you their services are charging at least double compared to a taxi you get off the street. If you take them here in Walmart garage you will pay 100-150 pesos for a trip that should only cost you 50 pesos. You can get a regular priced taxi if you literally walk to the perimeter of the Walmart area and flag a cab off the street.
My question for the owner/management is: why don't you care about your store and your customers? You could make so much more money by hiring some extra checkout ladies to make the whole customer experience fast & smooth, and if you see a product sells out quick, why don't you order more quantity next time so it doesn't sell out that fast? There is so many to win on a lot of points of the store.. It will make Playa happy and you aswell because you will eventually...
Read moreSneaky and Dishonest! I sent some money from USA to a friend. He got there, gave the code is required to get the money then they (the worker at Walmart) said that it has been picked up already. He said that that was impossible because the money was under his name and they needed a password and ID to hand it out (that he only had) Their response was, sorry, system just shows that money has been picked up, followed by “our system won’t allow to see any details about it, it just shows it has been picked up and that the sender (me) needed to go to the Walmart here and see what was going on. He called while he was there and told me the issue. I told him not to move and to wait there while I got to where I sent the money from. Once there, I gave the lady the receipt, explained the situation and she says, I don’t know what the issue is, the money is available, it hasn’t been picked up. I was on the phone with my friend and the people at his Walmart kept saying, sorry, it has been picked up but they didn’t have a way to back that up or even showed him what the issue with system was. It was a sharp, sorry, there is no money, you figure it out. Thankfully, we acted fast and since the money WAS STILL IN THE system here, we canceled the transaction and resent it through another server and location. 10 min later he went to that place and picked it up without a problem. You don’t have to be a genius to know what’s they were trying to do but I do hope they hire honest...
Read moreWe are staying in Playa for a month. Prices here are often higher for anything we'd get in the US. i.e. sunscreen, bacon. The staff HAVE NO interest in helping you whatsoever. I have used a translation app, always ask politely in Spanish if they can help. Nope. Today two staff female staff members were just chatting, I asked for help to find something. One of the women basically just waved in a general direction (where we had already been looking) and went back to her conversation. We also wanted some bread rolls. Went to the bakery area early in the morning, there was a lady with literally 3 x 50 gallon trash bags with bread rolls in them. Each roll was being painstakingly removed with tongs by the woman behind the counter to weigh. The customer told her to help those of us with one bread item each first. She looked at us all and simply said no. I gave up. We needed a tv monitor to add to my husbands laptop for him to work while here. We removed one from a stack with a price clearly marked on the stack. Nope! Not the right price for all of the TV's in that stack, just a random price for a completely different tv. I give up. The guy behind the fish counter is the only person in the entire store who has been polite and smiling. Literally if you're American or look foreign, good luck. This is not the Walmart we...
