Café Panorama is a restaurant and café that is located directly facing the beach and accessed from Avenue Mohammed VI, in the Malabata area of Tangier, Morocco.
While the restaurant has extraordinary views from its large, covered wrap-around terrace, it is now an overpriced tourist trap. I looked at the menu on a visit in mid-October 2025 and was horrified at the prices of everything. Some breakfasts cost 100 Dirhams, and a tajine can cost 120 Dirhams, double the cost elsewhere. I only ordered a black coffee in a small cup and with the small bottle of water it was 24 Dirhams. You could literally drink it in two or three gulps.
I have been here half a dozen times and found it used to be well run, and an old friend used to work there as a waiter. Unfortunately, it is now a disappointment. At times it can be a little noisy in the covered area facing the ocean. Here, there are some tables with umbrellas. The service seemed chaotic with waiters running around, and they were not particularly friendly, nor was I offered a menu automatically. I had to get one myself.
There is Wifi. Inside and on the large covered terrace facing Avenue Mohammed VI, it was very quiet with few customers. There is an upstairs seating area with large plate glass windows overlooking the beach and ocean, and on this level the toilets are located.
There is occasional air-conditioning, and presumably it is turned on in the warm summer months.
On a visit several years ago, I decided to have a breakfast special of two eggs on toast, and a coffee, but the bread was not well toasted and fell apart, and it was not buttered or particularly hot. I had to ask the waiter for extra coffee as he poured too much milk into my clear glass cup.
From my observations, I noticed that many people outside sitting under umbrellas were having sandwiches, salads, milkshakes, various fruit drinks and ice cream creations.
Café Panorama has unbeatable beach and ocean views, but sadly it is now overpriced and many reviews I read also complain about the high prices and not particularly good food and...
Read moreI came here on holiday to relax and have a good time, so on my first day, I decided to try this restaurant since it seemed popular and fairly busy. I assumed that was a good sign — unfortunately, I was wrong.
The prices were high for what turned out to be a terrible dining experience. I ordered the seafood pizza, which was honestly one of the worst meals I’ve ever had. The food was undercooked — it tasted like it hadn’t even been properly heated, let alone cooked through.
About an hour after eating, I started vomiting. That tells you everything you need to know about the quality and safety of the food.
If you’re European, like I am, I totally understand your standards and expectations when it comes to food and hygiene. This restaurant does not meet them. I strongly advise you to avoid this place — there’s clearly no concern for food safety or customer well-being. They seem to just serve whatever...
Read moreThis is a lovely restaurant located right on the beach. It is very clean - including the bathrooms they are well stocked. If you can try to get a spot upstairs - the view is amazing. But even downstairs the ambiance is beautiful, you can feel the sea breeze from the open restaurant space downstairs and it has outside seating. Their menu has extensive brunch and breakfast offerings, with some staples like burgers, Crepes , ice cream, juices and couscous on Fridays. The service was above and beyond in their kindness. The portions were large and reasonable - we paid $42 USD for 6 of us (and we ate plenty). Everything was delicious. The coffee is the only thing that’s a little expensive 😅 will DEFINITELY be back on our next visit to Tangiers. I would imagine it gets VERY busy in the summer so try to plan eating in a non peak meal time to...
