Conscious Hotel Museum Square — Hotel in Amsterdam

I will be honest, i was extremely pleased by my service at this hotel. Although the below reasons turned my 5 star rating to absolute disappointment.

They took my credit card on books even though I booked with airbnb. Which was fine by me, because I was intending on having breakfast and using their amenities.

I was about to extend 2 nights and informed the person incharge - i'll do it via airbnb, he was determined to extend via front desk and I wouldn't have to do it on airbnb - leaving with me no visibility.

But on the day of my departure I checked at the cashier, if all my dues were clear and they assured me that I can check out in peace.

Well here is the cherry on the top, 1 month after my checkout my credit card got charged by the hotel for an obscene amount. I was pretty confused, I spoke to Isabela and she confirmed my card was charged as they didn't charge me for an extra night along with my breakfast. However, the amount charged was twice the fee of what i paid for my room that time. So disappointed in their absolute disgraceful unethical way of treating their customers. Instead of informing me with an email and confirming if my account was charged before, and then apologising for their neglect and then requesting if they could charge me - they did none of that. Their customer service is a complete horror.

Upon arrival we were greeted with big smiles and a cheerful staff, Lucia helped us with registration, Rekha also welcomed us with information about the hotel and things to do. Amazing, awesome, fabulous stay, the rooms are really spacious for a boutique hotel. The beds are comfortable, Yael helped us with settling into our room, be sure to try all the pillow choices. A very comfortable and welcoming lounge area, the happy hour was a nice treat. The staff was incredibly kind, friendly and helpful, we enjoyed our free time with them in the lounge. Really nice outdoor seating for breakfast and afternoon gathering. Great location, walk friendly, public transportation easy. I look forward to coming back. We had a little problem with our transportation to the airport and Rekha made the phone calls we needed and translated so that we could make contact. A place that calls itself “Conscious” yet shows zero consciousness when it comes to empathy, fairness, or even basic decency. Due to an unexpected visa issue, we had to cancel our trip — something completely out of our control. We reached out on June 19, trusting the so-called 'free cancellation' policy, only to be told that the deadline was at 00:00 sharp. Not midday. Not end of day. Midnight. The type of fine print trickery you’d expect from a soulless corporation — not a hotel that markets itself as mindful and human-centered.

They charged us €1057 without a blink, refused any flexibility, and didn't even offer the option to reschedule our stay. Cold, robotic, and entirely focused on one thing: your money.
