Dongnanhang — Local services in Delft

Typically ok, but a recent experience has really changed my view of the place.

I bought a mortar and pestle here, they had a sample on display with both items, nothing indicating they were to be bought separately.

When I got home and opened the packaging only the mortar was in the box.

I called up the store to say the pestle was missing from the box. The store owner said that what’s in the box is what is sold, and asked if I wanted to return and refund the product, to which I said yes. Then she just abruptly says no refunds, and tells me not to shop there again.

The whole interaction left me dumbfounded and with a bad taste in my mouth. Really an unfortunate...

My favourite Chinese grocery store in the Netherlands. The owner is really nice every time I am there and in the store lives an incredibly cute cat. It is a Chinese store in the most classical sense, it manages twice as much in half the space as other stores. The selection is great, especially for Szechuan cooking which is my current obsession.
