Belgian Beer Cafe Belvédère — Restaurant in Delft

We ate here three times during our short visit. I had their mussels twice and a fish salad once. The mussels were great (I am from New England in the States and consider myself a fair judge). The fish salad was also very good, but the description in the menu is confusing. I believe it is trying to say, besides getting a list of other seafood, the fish salad portion will be made of either mackerel or tuna. On the day I had it, it was tuna.

Besides great food, the other rather obvious reason for visiting here is their impressive beer list. I knocked a couple of “bucket list beers” off my list as well as enjoying many other new ones. Brewery specific glassware was used in each and every case.

The staff were friendly and helpful, but as in most places I’ve been in Europe, you have to consciously get their attention. They will not hover or otherwise disturb you until you express a need.

1 star for the service( i wish i can give a -1), purely because of the unwelcoming reply by one of the waiters. I ordered a Ginger tea, and since it's cold outside, the water in it got cold very quickly as i drank it. Most of the places in Europe would accomodate a request for only a hot water refil for your cup. Though when i asked for the same, i was told "No" you have to order another one. And when i said it was cold while I was drinking it, the girl pointed out "but you drank it", and moved away rolling her eyes.

This just shows pure lack of hospitality and showcase of greed. What really stops you from filling a cup with hot water, it costs nothing and if not, then how about a polite refusal to the customer?

Place was lovely... service was fine 🙂 Beer was good .. But maybe I shouldn't of ordered the mussles .. really bad ! dry .. chewy , shrivelled up & totally not fresh in any way .. even smelt a little off! If say possibly microwaved to warm up maybe ? Anyways .. For 29€ I'd expect fresh succulent fresh mussels at least ! Shouldn't be difficult!
