Went on a Saturday afternoon to celebrate my son’s birthday. It was our first visit to the restaurant so we were all pretty excited (my family loves sushi/Japanese food altogether). The place was practically empty when we came (except for 2 ladies who left less than an hour after we came). Food was good but there were too little choices compared to the usual Japanese all-you-can-eat places we usually go to. Prices of drinks were a little steep. These were ok actually since again, food was good. But there was something really annoying and somewhat disturbing/creepy about the this place... the staff! There were 2 ladies serving us - taking our order sheet and serving our food. One lady (the younger one) smiles at us every time she gives our food but the other one (older - not too old - but much older than the other lady; Asian - this is not a racist remark, I’m Asian too), kept staring at us the whole time we were eating! As in she would stand near our table and just stare at each and one of us! There were a few times we made eye contact so I smiled but she never smiled back and just continued to make eye contact. What was that about?!?! She made us feel really uncomfortable and ruined the moment (again, it was my son’s birthday). We were supposed to stay for 2.5 hours but decided to leave just after about 1.5 hours (although we were already full actually). As I was ending my last few bites (I was the last one to finish), that same older lady just couldn’t help herself and started removing all the empty plates (while I was eating :( ). All the restaurants we’ve been in (as in ALL), waited for everyone to finish eating before cleaning the table up. Most would even say “Thank you for coming. Hope you enjoyed.” and show us the way out with a smile. But that lady? Nothing! She doesn’t have the slightest hint of customer service skills in her :( I mean, we are not expecting staff to smile like crazy the whole time but at least be polite and don’t act creepy by staring at customers while eating. It makes the experience so bad no matter how good the food is. Would I recommend this place? Well, NO. Food is good but you can get as good or even better in other places where you can enjoy/have fun while eating and be greeted with staff who love their job or at least have people skills. I don’t mean to be rude, I just want to give an honest opinion about...
Read moreReally great, and totally worth the price! With the all you can eat, me and friend basically had nearly all the different nigiri, maki and gunkan. Some were old favourites, but some unexpected new favourites for me were the ika nigiri and the kushi maki. We also got a number of other random things, and another unexpected dish that I quite liked was the ika yaki. For dessert, we had green tea, black sesame, mango and chocolate icecream and fried bananas. The green tea could have been stronger, but that could be made up by simply having ordering more of it ;) You're allowed to order four rounds of food (and you have to eat all of it). When you order icecream, they think that it's the last round (we ordered it on our third round--but they were supernice and so we got to order more icecream for our fourth round). Recommended to go with friend(s), all the better to order multiple dishes to share and try out I would definitely go...
Read moreWe've often dined here before, but this was the first time we came here since my mom got celiac disease. We called beforehand to make sure there was a gluten-free menu for my mom and the restaurant was able to handle the dietary needs that come with it. This was no problem; she could still use the all you can eat menu as long as she ordered separately.
However, possibly because of some miscommunication in the kitchen, all of the dishes they served my mom still contained sauce with gluten. There was no apology or anything; the staff just went on with their work as if nothing had happened after we found out about this mistake! I'm very disappointed in how this was handled, and I don't think I'll be back, even though I used to be a...
