Nice cozy ramen place in the heart of Delft. the Tonkotsu broth was amazing! such a nice soup to drink and the ramen is more of the thin noodle variant. You get lean cuts of meat instead of fatty parts...which in general i like more instead of only eating fat...lean meats have body and you can just chew on it instead of melting in your mouth. it's a personal preference but I really like that chewiness ;-) one thing that i noticed we didn't get any seaweed and no egg (not sure if that was included or not) but it was okay because i'd rather eat Gyoza and Kara-age instead of an egg :') But GET THEM side dishes yo! the gyoza meat definitely had good flavour (bit of salt but not too overpowering) if you add some of the oil sauce (not sure what it was but it makes the gyoza a bit more salty...maybe miso ish flavour? which I like a lot!) it definitely gets you PUMPED up for the ramen so it's a good appetizer before you eat ramen. the Kara-age was tasty as well (not the best i've eaten but still passable). I believe they air-fry these chicken? i didn't saw them frying them in a pan or something...but it still tasted good so no complaints about that. there is no reservation system here so it's first come first serve. we went here on a thursday so the waiting line was around 20 minutes...it's not so bad...not sure if It's a good idea to come here during the weekends...probably be hardcore full around 18:00 so my tip would be come here 17:00 on the spot if you hate waiting (that's the time when they open up) so safe yourself some frustration and come early ;-)

Visited Nikkou Ramen in Delft, and I will declare a bold statement here: for me, it has one of the finest ramen in the Netherlands! My go-to order is the Toripaitan Shio Ramen, a sumptuous bowl featuring a rich chicken broth, tender chicken fillet, bamboo shoots, radish, and red onion. The broth is exceptionally thick and flavorful, a quality unmatched by any other ramen I’ve sampled in the Netherlands. Each element is meticulously prepared, and the addition of an ajitama egg perfects the dish. Accompanying my meal, I enjoy a Kimura Ramune Carbonated soft drink. It's mild carbonation is a delight, especially since I prefer drinks that aren't overly fizzy. This unique and authentic beverage complements the meal beautifully. The ambiance of Nikkou Ramen is charming, especially if you choose to sit at the ramen bar, where you can observe the preparation of your meal. Though the space is intimate, it evokes the authentic feel of a Japanese ramen bar. I highly recommend this gem! Having visited numerous times, I will undoubtedly return. Do note their operating hours, as they are not open every day.

It is very difficult for me to come to the decision of writing this review because Ramen Nikkou has been one of my favorite restaurants and I’ve been loving the food here. However after being mistreated by the chef today I think it is necessary to express my disappointment. While waiting in line, my friend and I asked one of the waiters if we could take the table outside which had not been taken by anyone yet. The friendly waiter informed us that we would have to wait for even longer if we wanted to sit outside. After about 10 minutes the table was still untaken so I went inside and asked again if we could take it. The waiter then had a conversation with the chef in Japanese and afterwards the chef pointed at the door and asked me to “get out and wait in line.” I tried to politely ask for the reason but again was pointed at by the chef and was then rudely asked to get out without receiving any form of explanation. Without any intention to cause any trouble or even to have an argument, I couldn’t wrap my head around why I was treated like that in front of a crowd. The other waiters were super friendly but unfortunately the hostile attitude from the chef made me extremely...

Really good ramen, the atmosphere is nice, staff are really friendly and attentive. The place is small and crowded, with an open kitchen and mostly bar seating.

Only open for a couple of hours for lunch and then another few for dinner and doesn't take reservations. So not very suitable for groups or families with small children.

Despite their limited capacity I didn't feel rushed by staff to free up my seat, which was a nice surprise.

The food was very good, very hot, noodles cooked to perfection, but too salty for my taste, and it could've done with more vegetables, the balance with the amount of noodles was a bit off.

I made the mistake of ordering a large, I did finish it all (because I hate to waste food and so does the restaurant), but the regular size would have been enough, even for a very hungry caterpillar like myself.

Menu options are limited; which is not a downside for me, (it usually means everything's more fresh,) but I thought I'd mention it anyway.

Prices are a bit high (would've been 5 stars if not for that), so it won't become a regular lunch spot for me, but worth it as a treat every...
