I’ve heard about this Peruvian restaurant in Aruba and I decided to try it out since my friends and family have recommended it. Prior to this I had high hopes for this restaurant not only because it’s 🇵🇪 food but given its ratings, the majority of people say it’s good…unfortunately it’s the opposite. The atmosphere of the place is good though I like the decorations of Peru and the Inca culture. In terms of the food, I ordered the Arroz con Mariscos (seafood rice) but what confused me was that the menu said something about “special” sauce. I didn’t know what that meant but I decided to try it since I was craving seafood. The appearance of this dish was a little off because it looks like their “sauce” covered the entire dish and you can’t even see the seafood. Based on the picture of my dish, it doesn’t even look appetizing. I tried the dish, the rice and clams were good, but then I tried the sauce, it tasted very weird. It was like a creamy, cheesy sauce that did not blend well with the food and made it taste terrible. There were aspects of this sauce that did not blend with the ingredients of this dish. I’ve had a this dish in plenty of places, but none ever looked like this or tasted so bad. The special sauce ruined this dish completely and I had to send it back and got instead lomo saltado de carne. It tasted like regular grilled beef tomato and onions which wasn’t anything new to me. So yeah, I was disappointed with that first dish, their version of arroz con marisco was like a cheesy risotto pasta that did not blend well with the flavors of the seafood. Disappointed with their special sauce, it should not be in the menu, it doesn’t deserve to be associated with 🇵🇪. I’ll take my business elsewhere with another Peruvian restaurant. This one was not good. Delimar? Might as well...

Delimar Peruvian Restaurant is a true gem. It’s located one block off of the main road going through Oranjestad in Aruba. EVERYTHING about this restaurant is absolutely amazing. The selection and quality of food is incredible. Being a Peruvian restaurant, the majority of the menu items lean more on the fresh fish and seafood side.

My husband and I dine here at Delimar at least 2-3 times each visit to Aruba, which happens to be twice a year for almost a month each time.

There’s a very small staff at this restaurant; however they have come to know us well enough by what we order almost every time.

The food is CONSISTENTLY incredible. We have never had anything less than an exceptional meal. I always order the Pulpo al Grill (grilled octopus) and my husband gets the Arroz Pirata (rice with tons of beautifully mixed seafood and shellfish). I usually get a side order of the fried yucca, because they seem to do it better here than anywhere else. However, I always save room for dessert. Their Tres Leches Cake is simply to die for.

All of that being said, equally as important as the amazing foods, is the fact that the restaurant is impeccably clean. My husband and I are in the food manufacturing business. Cleanliness and hygiene must always be a top priority. If a restaurant’s bathroom is not clean, then neither is its kitchen. I know for a fact that the bathroom at Delimar is immaculate; therefore, I’m 100% confident that their kitchen is too!

I highly recommend Delimar to anyone who knows good food. You will not be disappointed. But you might just be the only tourist in there. All of the locals know it’s great. Especially at lunchtime on weekdays, you will find mostly professionals who work in the area dining at Delimar.

I cannot praise this restaurant...

If you’re looking to embark on a culinary journey to Peru without ever leaving the Caribbean, Delimar Peruvian Restaurant in Aruba is an absolute gem that deserves a top spot on your dining itinerary.

From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by an attentive and genuinely friendly staff who set the tone for an exceptional dining experience. The service at Delimar is nothing short of outstanding—professional, prompt, and always delivered with a smile.

The ambiance of the restaurant is inviting and authentically Peruvian, with tasteful decor that pays homage to the country’s rich cultural heritage. Every detail, from the wall art to the traditional textiles, immerses you in the vibrant spirit of Peru.

Now onto the food—wow. Every dish we ordered was bursting with flavor and prepared with unmistakable care and attention to detail. The ingredients were incredibly fresh, and the generous portion sizes made it feel like a true feast. Whether it was the perfectly marinated ceviche, the tender lomo saltado, or the exquisitely seasoned seafood dishes, each bite transported us straight to the streets of Lima.

The only small critique lies in the vegetable sides. While everything else on the plate was beautifully executed, the veggies were either overcooked to the point of being mushy or underseasoned. They felt more like an afterthought than a complement to the otherwise stellar dishes. A more traditional and flavorful Peruvian vegetable preparation would elevate the experience even further.

That said, Delimar is a must-visit when in Aruba. It offers an unforgettable fusion of top-tier service, authentic atmosphere, and truly remarkable food. Highly recommended for anyone craving something both soulful...
