I visited NZ years ago and while driving to Queenstown, I stopped at a roadside produce stand for a snack. I noticed some "Black Boy" peaches which I had never heard of before. They sounded interesting so I bought a couple and continued my drive. As I was driving, I ate them and they were some of the most delicious things I've ever had! They have yellow skins like a regular peach but are purple inside like plums. If I had eaten one while I was still at the stand, I would have bought more of them It was almost worth going to NZ just to taste them (I'm from the US). I have no idea which produce stand it was but it was somewhere in this area (the 5 stars are for whichever one it was). I've never heard anything about Black Boy peaches before or since. Anyway, since you seem to reply to almost all of these reviews, I thought I'd leave my own. Anything you can tell me about these peaches is much appreciated. If you dont sell them yourself I'd recommend that you do. Thanx in advance for your reply! BTW, the rest of NZ was great, too, altho surprisingly...
Read moreWe had one of our best fruit farm tour today. We drove past Jackson Orchards when we were on our way to Cromwell town and we decided to stopped by and buy some fruits. It was unplanned and we signed up for the tour just because we were curious and wanted to know more about how the locals harvest their fruits. Julie was our tour guide and she was just wonderful - friendly, experienced, knowledgeable and generous - We walked away with 4 bags cherries! Those are so sweet, juicy and big! During the tour, we were able to see, other apricots, apples, peaches and nectarines of various varieties, as well as have a nice tour of the Jackson family property. This is really an experience we will never forget, since we could never have this back home in our tropical country. Thank you Julie and Jackson Orchards for such a...
Read moreBought some "Mixed Size" Christmas Cherries online and phoned Jackson's Orchards and got confirmation the cherries are excellent and some 5 Star Restaurants in Auckland also order from them. When the cherries were received, most of the cherries are alright size ranging from 18mm to 26mm. However there was two particular 5kg boxes that contained almost all around 20mm size cherries lots under 20mm, no bigger than the supermarket cherries that is selling for $15 per kg! I have written to complain that I expected it to be at least better than supermarket 2nd grade cherries but received reply that she specifically said its mixed size cherries.
SO THOSE THAT ARE CONSIDERING PURCHASING ONLINE CHERRIES, DON'T BE SUPPRISED TO RECEIVE SUPERMARKET CHEERIES THAT IS FOR SALE FOR $15 PER KG AS AT THE DATE I...
