I am highly disappointed to have to resort to posting this review, particularly after attempting to address the matter privately and receiving no response.
I dined at Thai Crom during a business trip and was served raw chicken. The dish was taken away, and within minutes, a replacement arrived with still completely raw vegetables. By that point, I had lost trust in both the kitchen’s care and the overall dining experience. With limited time, I paid in full, including two glasses of wine and left (the second glass of wine I bought to get rid of the jelly taste of raw chicken in my mouth).
Out of respect, I followed up with an email, giving the restaurant a fair opportunity to acknowledge the situation and respond appropriately. I received nothing in return.
So this review stands as a reflection of:
•Being served raw chicken a basic and serious food safety failure
•A lack of accountability or care shown at the time
•No acknowledgment or response when approached for resolution
I am not the type of person to create a scene in a restaurant. I trusted this could be handled with professionalism and integrity afterward. Instead, I have been ignored, leaving me with frustration and the sense that I would have had to act aggressively or unreasonably just to be treated fairly.
This experience speaks volumes about the business’s attitude toward customer care and basic food...
Read moreDuring our trip from Wanaka to Queenstown last June, we noticed a Thai restaurant in Cromwell and decided to stop for lunch. Upon entering, we were greeted by a blast of cold air, as the restaurant was not well-heated.
Despite the chilly interior, the staff was warm and welcoming, promptly providing us with menus that had helpful descriptions of the dishes. We walked to the counter to place our order as the staff did not approach our table. We ordered vegetarian tom yum soup, chilli pad grapao, oyster sauce stir-fry, and chicken wings.
The chicken wings were quite enjoyable with their crispiness. However, the chilli pad grapao and the oyster sauce stir-fry tasted remarkably similar, as if they used the same base sauce, differing only in their spiciness levels. The vegetarian tom yum soup was not bad, warm, and nice on the tummy. One cute gesture was the rice, which was nicely shaped into a star. Overall, the food was alright, but the experience was underwhelming due to the cold ambience and...
Read moreThe food here was delicious! I picked the Pineapple Chicken Fried Rice and it was pretty tasty! The rest of my family picked a few different dishes that we all shared, they all enjoyed it too. And the Staff were so friendly, kind and the service here was pretty fast too, but it could have also been fast because the restaurant wasn't overly packed just yet by the time we went in for dinner. But there was still a steady stream of customers arriving. It just might not have been as busy since it was 2 days after Christmas, so most people were probably out of town with their families. But all in all, this place was lovely, the food was great and the Staff were perfectly lovely! I would definitely come back here again! ☺ Oh and P.S. My Aunty can't eat onions because she has a bit of an allergic reaction to them. So we told the Staff to skip the onions in all of the dishes and they were so nice about it! All of the dishes had no onions so my Aunty could actually...
