We took the Ferry from Auckland, (which was included in a city tour) to Devonport. From Devonport we walked along the coast road to Torpedo Bay Navy Museum. We also included in our walk North Head, visiting the battery and rising guns. At Torpedo bay we visited the Navy Museum and learnt much about the NZ Navy during the two world wars. The staff were helpful and one man particularly helped us with explanations including alot of political comment.
