OFFA Bakery — Restaurant in Hibiscus and Bays

I don't want to review Offa. Why? Because it will bring more traffic into Browns Bay, making parking even more difficult on weekends.

But if I had to put my own selfish convenience aside for a second, I would tell you that Offa is one of those small hidden gems. Completely innocent looking until you manage to stuff one of their pastries into your face.

I have never, in 40 years, had a better almond croissant before. Their cheesecake is a rival to my own (and I rate mine as the best) and the people behind the counter are, dare I say it, lovelier than the baked goods they're selling. You go for the pastries, you stay for the smile kind of thing.

They sell fresh barista-style coffee as well, perfect to go along with your treats. There are even a few chairs and tables to relax at. Get there early because they do tend to sell out quickly.

Hands down, without a doubt, my most favourite bakery in Auckland. I was so tempted to keep this place to myself so they don’t sell out, but I couldn’t stop myself from raving about their pastries to my friends and now they’re sold too. Nowhere else perfects the consistency and sweetness of their pastries quite like OFFA. My all-time favourites are the chocolate scroll/swirl, ricotta and cherry, and hazelnut pain au chocolat (I really liked their pecan one as well but haven’t seen it recently). I’m yet to try their savoury range but I have no doubt they’re just as good. Whenever I’m in the area I do not miss an opportunity to stop by....

One of the best bakeries in Auckland, every single item in their menu is delicious, prepared with good quality ingredients and just something different from the rest. We love their family size Quiches , the size is generous, enough for 8 /10 portions.
