Tldr - One of the best meals of my life. We saw a new spot had just opened so decided to check it out. The team were so welcoming that even with a fiesty toddler we decided to eat in. Good decision. We asked for some suggestions and I'm so glad we took them. The samosa chaat (pictured) had everything you want in a meal. Balanced seasoning, crunchy, tangy, creamy, filling but not heavy, and just so fresh! It had this sweet/sour sauce glaze thing that makes my mouth water just thinking about it. I don't like peas so wouldn't normally order anything with them but in this dish they were little balls of sweetness on top of a bowl of happiness. We also shared the deconstructed lunch bowl with butter chicken with rice. You've likely never had a butter chicken like this and once you try it you'll be mad you've eaten all those bad ones when you could have been eating this instead. Was also lucky enough to try their home made chai. I've only ever tried chai syrups in the past so assumed I didn't like chai. Conversations Cafe proving me wrong again and I'm delighted. Despite being so full I could barely move I couldn't stop drinking it, and I'm glad I did because it cleared my hayfever sinuses and was a warm hug for my insides. I know this review sounds intense but the food was just that good!! We have already made plans to go back next weekend. Thank you so much Conversations Cafe!

Saw a new Cafe was opening in Hastings and wanted to check it out as it looked like a lovely place. My partner and I were blown away by the quality of the food and the owners who's approach truly lives up the Conversations name. We were immediately made to feel welcome and the chef made some recommendations for us to try. We went for a Samosa Chaat (fresh and had flavour for days) along with a butter chicken lunch bowl (promised as the best this side of Bengal). Both dishes 10/10! Chef had every right to boast about his curry and the fact it pairs so well with olive salsa + guacamole is a revelation to me. The meal was finished off with some Chai, a house blend that again was so well put together it was impossible not to love. We will be back, made it down for brunch this time but aiming to check out the breakfast menu soon. If you're in Hawkes Bay and want food to make you feel good, make this place a must visit.

I recently visited this café and was pleasantly surprised by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure everything ran smoothly. The tea was rich and aromatic, brewed to perfection, while the food was fresh and beautifully presented. I especially enjoyed, it was flavorful and well-balanced. The portion sizes were generous without being overwhelming. The café has a cozy vibe, perfect for catching up with friends or working on a laptop. Prices were fair for the quality, and overall, it felt like great value for money. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for good food, great coffee, and a relaxing spot
